I mean, thats great. But how much of that they keep throwing back at marketing... $2B isn't impressive with half a billion spent on marketing
I know we have a theme park thread but I didn’t want to fill that up too much since it’s not my personal blog. But I got on Flight of Passage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom and… it’s pretty fun. The picture is bright despite it being in 3D, the action is fun and not too scary, and the shots are beautiful. I legitimately enjoyed myself as someone who doesn’t ride rides. I like they already brought in some stuff from the sequel, and wouldn’t mind more. But get lightning lane, the wait time for standard was obnoxious.
It's actually doing worse than the original Avatar if you adjust for inflation, so I am going to guess that is true here too.
Meh, I still think HISHE has lost its touch. The only funny thing there was Spoiler Brendan Frasier’s cameo.
Avatar: The Way of Water VFX Supervisor Rushed to Surgery After Oscar Win He was suffering abdominal pains, and it was discovered that he had a ruptured intestine. Get well soon sir, your work was outstanding.
It'll never look as good as it did in theaters, but 3 hours of bonus features is hard to pass up. Every bit of behind the scenes stuff for this movie was fascinating to watch.
Welp, time to quadruple dip on Avatar. I originally bought the DVD. Later I got a blu-ray player, so I got the regular blu-ray release. Later I upgraded to the deluxe blu-ray boxset to get the extended cut. Now the 4k.
Sucks that the extended cut is not in 4K as I've been watching the blu-ray for that every time I did a rewatch.
I am so happy that Avatar 2 is going to be released on 3D Blu-ray, and it looks like it's even coming out in the U.S.! That's more than I dared to hope for. It's time to celebrate! I do hope that a future release will give the full 3D+HFR someday, but for now this is as good as it gets at home.
