It is the year 2011. A treacherous Decepticon group long thought to have been lost to the cosmos have resurfaced, bringing the threat of a new war to both Earth and Cybertron. The Autobots have a new weapon in the fight though... A mysterious new friend who calls himself Depth Charge. This new ally was found by a human exploration crew, frozen in the depths of the Atlantic. It didn't take long for the Autobots to be alerted to what was found to be a cybertronian warrior who had lived on Earth millions of years ago. After much work, Ratchet was able to rebuild and reactivate the oddly advanced robotic life form, who claimed to be a "Maximal", from 300 years in the future! Depth Charge doesn't talk much, and refuses to talk about his past, or the future, saying only that he closed that chapter of his life and does not look back. With a new Autobot body fused with alien transmetal parts and advanced Maximal circuitry, Depth Charge is the silent killer to send when you need a con to disappear.
i really like this idea you should do some other updates of beast wars figures in this style. perhaps some of the others who didnt make it to beast machines. but really nice custom love the back story well done
Yeah! Great job! I've been thinking for a while now that he looked like Depth Charge! Now we just need Thunderwing into Tigerhawk, Hailstorm into Quickstrike, and Darkmount into Rampage! Someone has already done the Drift into Cheetor/Tigatron. Yay Beast Wars!
Now that is a repaint that I wouldnt have a second thought at buying. Any plans on doing Rampage as well? Or perhaps BM Jetstorm?
This looks great!! There is a big space in my Transformers love for Beast Wars and this just made me smile. In fact I picked up an extra Terrordive thinking the same thing. Nice paint job btw total TransMetal vibe going on here and the alt modes are icing on the energon cube "
The trident, two tone effect from blue to silver to purple/majenta is just beyond cool. BTY the figure is nice too.
Been waiting on someone to make this ever since he came out! Great job on the paint and alt mode variations. Plus you did it with no mods. Impressive.
Nah, Depthcharge killed Rampage, and his Maximal self and obsession with revenge died with him. I just did this one because I loved the Depth Charge BW character. I am working on 2 other BW figures though.
With that head, this had to be done eventually, and you haven't let us down. The paintjob is outstanding; I really love that stunning metallic blue. The two extra alt-modes are pretty kickarse too, especially given that they're ones he can pull off with no modding (I assume). And as ever, and excellent story to accompany the pics.
