I'd contact the seller first & try to resolve the issue between the two of you, but make sure you save all you emails just in case. Then if the seller is unresponsive I'd go to ebay & explain the situation, you shouldn't have a problem getting your money back.

Do you have a link to the auction? I'd like to check them out, I've never seen KOs of these before.

You sure about those 1986 dates stamps? The clones were released in 1987 and most of the time stampings match the release years.

I thought those were just the Chinese release (legit not KO)
Goto this link and go down to the where it says clones it's about half way down the page. I believe this is what you are talking about.
    Chinese Transformers!

The Hasbro stamp looks legit enough... Though the Decepticon logos look kinda like the ones from the TFCs....

The stamping doesn't indicate it's a bootleg. There was a transition in manufacturing location at the time and many '87 and '86 figures came stamped differently. I've seen this more commonly on Aerialbots, of which I've had more pass through my hands than Clones.

Are there other reasons you believe Wingspan to be a fake?

just the the quality of plastic and the colouring of the plastic not as deep lighter in colour but not like straight off you do have to look at the figures carefully to see the difference in colour but the quality of platic is different

the stamping definitely looks legit, and those are not the late chinese reissue either, because if that's the case the country name will be blocked out.
Toys made in Macau uses a different plastic material comparing to the one made in japan, and yes, the Macau plastic is not as good as the early plastic. They are still legit g1 toys, because most of the late g1 era toys were made in Macau or Taiwan.
Color is never a good indication, because toys could get yellowed/faded over the years.
Also, the chinese transformers did come with the rubsigns, but again those could also fall off over the years.

So if your orignal one is the Japan one(1986), and the one you bought from the seller is the Macau one(1987), there will be plastic quality differences between the two, but the macau one is definitely not a KO
