Via Union Transformex on Facebook we can share images of a very interesting itinerant event in Mexico: The Autobot Cinema Road by Hasbro Mexico.

This is the beginning of the promotional campaign for Studio Series and the Bumblebee Movie in Mexico. The event started last Sunday 8th at the Walmart in Plaza Tepeyac, Mexico City. Big panels and toys of the Studio Series lines were shown, and a cool human-sized box of Studio Series Bumblebee for you to take a picture inside. Of course there were cars that resembled Optimus Prime and Bumblebee.

The most interesting part came with the Optimus trailer. It could be used as a small cinema where they projected a special video with fragments and trailers of the previous live-action movies, a behind-the-scene interview with Travis Knight and the Bumblebee Movie trailer of course (in Spanish audio).

A very nice and original way to promote the upcoming movie and the new toys at the same time. This will rolling out into different cities in Mexico during the next days.

Is this a tease for a future SS DOTM Bee?

 

Nope, it’s for a studio series last knight bumblebee...odd choice but ok.

 

Damn, I hope this doesn't take up a spot from the Bee movie. I rather get the new Bots/Cons first.

 

Given that the standard Last Knight Bumblebee was never released in most of the US I’d say a reissue or repaint would be justified.

Its probably TLK Bumblebee, but it could be retooled into DOTM Bee considering they have very similar body types.

I honestly hope not. For all of its flaws, the Last Knight Deluxe Bee was pretty good. Not only that, but it came out just last year. I’d much rather Hasbro do a different deluxe toy like Sideswipe, Sideways, Hatchet, or even Jolt.

 

Definitely want that starscream done in any form.

 

Hatchet would be really nice. Perhaps even in a two pack with a new crankcase.

 

Could be just an unreleased artwork.


Anyway. The giant box it's pretty neat.

Potential unreleased artwork or not that's pretty interesting could it mean if studio series continues to be semi well received that they could touch on a few mv5 characters as well.

Is that an Optimus Prime Volvo Big Rig?

 

The more I look at it I get the impression it is new. And not at all made for the tlk line like these were.

 

That would be cool but I don’t think we’ll be seeing a Studio Series Crankcase anytime soon (of course, now that I’ve said this, an SS Crankcase will probably be revealed at SDCC). Technically, you could just go out and buy Berserker. While he’s a totally different character, he’s basically the deluxe Crankcase we never got. If anything, he’s the most definitive version of the character.

 

Would a Crankcase need to be anything more than a recolored TLK Berserker I wonder? I feel like their models were nearly identical.

 

It's funny when you think about the fact we have known about this new Bumblebee since around April. I got this image from the Transformers Reddit a pretty long time ago (someone in the comments of the post said that when translated the quote says something around the lines of "Studio Series out now", as a part of an April Fools prank which in the next few days it was in the US).
