We know that Starscream always backstabbed Megatron and try to over throw him and name himself Leader at a every chance he gets. But if there to be one on the Autobot side and do the same to Prime who do you think it would be out of all the Autobots? My guess it would of be Prowl
Yeah, Grimlock even wanted to be the leader until Prime convinced him he's better for the job. In the comic, Grimlock did a pretty decent job at the helm.
Agreed! I see it this way too. Grimlock is an egotist, and worships strength. He'd want to best Optimus in direct combat, and he'd want an audience for it. Mirage, naturally, but that's old hat. Prowl... he's analytical, but I don't think he's disloyal. I could see him taking a shady path like in the Roberts/Roche story, but always with the best of intentions... he's someone who prefers to fade into the wallpaper and influence things from a quiet position. I don't think he's ambitious. I think he might do things behind Prime's back simply to "protect Prime from himself", but that would be it. But who would actually betray Optimus to seize leadership? Not many. Sky Lynx maybe, due to his tremendous ego and power. But I'm sure for him, that's just not cricket. Scattershot maybe... if he thinks the Autobots need someone else with a more aggressive agenda. Jetfire maybe, if you go back to his original bio. zmog
Grimlock is most likely. Ironhide a few times seemed to have strongly disagreed with primes choices .... Sky Lynx? oh heavens no! Sky Lynx wouldnt never stab in the back. i do say such a suggestion is just plain out of the question. though, since you brought it up, why isnt sky Lynx leader? after all, none are superior to Sky Lynx; for he is unrivaled in many aspects, such as speed, agility, firepower, looks, charm, etc; i wager that many autobots, even optimus prime himself, do look upto Sky Lynx but for him to be leader, well, such an honor while quite suitable for him, is not something he could aquire through ill gotten gains. no, Sky Lynx would only achieve leadership be means of democracy. and surely he would win be a landslide.

Seriously, though, I can't really see Autobots removing a leader by backstabbing, that's pretty much a "villian" trait. I would like to see an Autobot drove to removing a leader because they've gone nuts or did something very foolish. Kind of like how Cheetor took over in Beast Machines when Primals became a hippie ideologue. Or like how Prime Starscream wants to lead partially because Megatron is a dark energon-high lunatic. Also, how has no one said Sentinel Prime yet?
It does seem as though perhaps that Dinobots programming might be more similar to the Decepticons than the Autobots. The Aireolbots did at least twice try to disassociate from the Autobots. Maybe it has something to do with being planes. But that's only because he wasn't well and thought that everyone was conspiring against him.
