Y'know... I'm thinking this doesn't look half bad?

Obviously this is a low budget figure, cheaply made and barely above the level of a proverbial Happy Meal toy. But like... it looks like Wheeljack. Both modes look right, and it has articulation at the shoulders and elbows. If it actually has knees, I'll give it a passing grade.

Some of these Authentics seem sort of okay, aesthetically at least... though it's the flat hollow legs on some of them that looks especially rough. My main concern about this line is whether the price will actually reflect the quality. Seems like Hasbro is inflating all their prices lately (and global strife doesn't help the economy much) so I anticipate finding this on a shelf for something stupid like $24

even though it's cheap this might be a step in the right direction for future g1 Arcee toys maybe but who knows

 

Just picked up Wheeljack at a local (rural) Dollar General, so if you haven't found him yet, you might want to check your Dollar Generals.

No sign of Arcee, though.

Recently acquired Wheeljack myself, and I’m really liking the figure.

 

Could you snap a picture of the barcode? I’d like to see if I’m able to order them for my store

 

I bought mine from a local Kroger affiliate grocery store about a month ago. He's a pretty nice figure and stands well next to the Cyber Battalion guys.

 

Sure...not sure if the quality is good enough, but it's as good as I could get with my crappy phone.

Oh, yeah, I meant that since he was showing up at Dollar Generals (especially my rural-as-heck DG), that he's finally starting to hit full distribution and DG might be another option for people to pick him up.

Did your Kroger get Arcee yet?

Thanks so much! Not sure if DG puts their own stickers over top of the regular UPC (that’s what it looks like), but based on that barcode alone Walgreens will not be getting these unfortunately

 

There does appear to be a sticker over the UPC, but it's inside the bubble, not on the outside of it, so it would have had to have been applied at the factory.

Edit: According to Nevermore's UPC list, Wheeljack's UPC is 195166156514.

So, I guess depending on where you buy him, the UPC will differ.

I’m sure the quality will be questionable, but it’s crazy how much more on-model this Alpha Wheeljack is then the crappy Earthrise figure — the chest being the right shape works wonders, and frankly I think the headsculpt looks a bit more on-point too.

 

The quality isn't questionable on these and Earthrise Wheeljack rules.

I agree. I've bought LOP, a few Cores and Authentics Barricade this year. Guess which one I found the best value for the money?

 

Honestly, he's kind of a discount MP Wheeljack (similar size and great articulation). The only thing sacrificed is the waist but I'm okay with that since it uses his actual windshield. Pair him up with Cyber Battalion Sideswipe and Prowl and you have a winner.

Doesn't hold together in vehicle mode very well. I do like the gun storage, though.

 

I hadn't realized she wasn't 'out' yet. Picked her up at a Fred Meyer (Kroger) store in Portland almost a month ago. I have not seen Wheeljack yet but they've gotten several of the Arcee. I really like the car mode a lot, the robot mode is kind of OK if you don't touch her. I appreciate that she comes with her weapon
