Too many random emoticons but then again, I haven't experienced what you are at the moment.

I agree. I've always hated that!:mad  I've heard that compannies overcharge Australians. Why? Because they can and we'll still pay.:banghead:  Although because of this, I haven't had the money to buy much TF stuff for a while.

They always rip off the Islanders! :)  (I mean :mad )

Wow, seriously, with prices like that my collection would be well....not many, not many at all as I like the voyagers and Leaders for the most part..

Maybe it's not hasbro but the local tariffs or trade duties?

Whatever the cause, it still sucks. And its not just TFs, but that's not for this forum. Hence why I'm very critical about who I do and don't get, and why I'm more disappointed in myself if I'm not very happy with my purchase once its out of the package.

These are basically the very same prices we have here in New Zealand.

It's prices like these which has stopped me from buying in-store and buying online.

Having just moved from America to Australia this does indeed suck.

But, a few things I've noticed, the average employee wage over here for entry level retail work is AT LEAST double what it is in the US. So the cost of doing business is higher here.

Also I think we in America are spoiled by the fact that giant retailers can demand low costs, and can sell at low profit.

Also you have to keep in mind Australia only has 20 million people versus America which has over 300 million. Less people to sell to means less reason to sell to companies in Australia.

Although one thing I've found odd, and kinda goes against all I've just said is that toys that are not licensed IE Marvel, Transformer etc. don't seem to be nearly as higher priced.

I concur, dear colleague, that the price that is charged for my favoured brand of transforming robot actions is, has been, and will likely always be, utter balls.

While I understand the reasons why Australians will never have TF prices as low as Americans, I still think we pay far too much. I mean, for the price of one voyager here, you could get two voyagers and a deluxe in America!

I'd be happy paying around $20 for new deluxes and $30 for voyagers.

Um, they cost the same here and our income per capita certainly isn't the same as Australia.

I know exacly how you feel, almost same here, we pay few dollars more for Deluxe and Voyager.
    Prices went double since 2008.
And for the irony, in US you can find some deluxes even for 5$.
Makes you want to stop collecting a bit.

I've accepted it by now, it just makes me collect... less. I'm more picky and try to pick up the fun, outstanding molds. Not only are they more expensive, we also have much less variety - they skip some waves entirely, no CHUG at all, etc. I'm fairly concerned that Prime might not get here at all, but I remain hopeful.

    Yep, no CHUG here too.
    Oh, don't worry about Prime.
Every country which gets Prime cartoon will get toys too. Same with movies.
Stores don't understand why would someone buy CHUG because they aren't connected with anything popular at the moment.
