^Awesome! I was a bit hesitant to order from ezy anyway, since they once failed to deliver my preordered stuff.
oh man, i already own the dvds to beast wars, but my first season disk 4 doesnt work, and im under the impression this box set has some features sooo i might get it
When you say complete for eg: Beast Wars series, does it cover Beast Machines as well? 2 wishes here: 1) I hoped that BW is a COMPLETE set. 2) They make this generally available & affordable.
i asked about the japan shows on shout factory's site and they said america will never get the japan episodes. They cost to much or something. It's ok for every other part of the world to get them but we can't get these three blasted shows in america!
Nope, the only currently available official releases of the Japanese G1 stuff are PAL-only at the moment, and since Metrodome in the UK lost the license for Transformers when owner TV Loonland sold the worldwide rights for Sunbow (including Japanese G1) to Hasbro, Madman is the only publisher currently making them. Aren't those from The Gathering? Those are Don Figueroa (and Guido's, I believe) pin ups of Optimus Primal, Black Arachania and I expect the other side has Megatron. Knowing Madman, these are straight repacks. Why don't you try asking Madman for help with your non-functioning disc? It's just the three seasons of Beast Wars. Madman doesn't have the rights for Beast Machines. I'd suggest tracking down the Rhino Beast Machines set.
I LUVvvvv Rhino Home Videos! I bought all volumes of G1 except for their Beast Wars & Beast Machines series due to the fact that these are relatively pricey over here. Now, if only we get BW II & BW Neo as well then the circle will be complete.
Rhino's Beast Wars DVDs are worse than Madman anyway, both in video quality (PAL being clearer than NTSC) and features (hey, commentary tracks).
But Fit For Natalie just said that Hasbro owns the Japanese shows too. I don't understand "cost too much". How would they cost anymore than a regular DVD set?
Something about the additional cost of clearing the rights to the original language, if I recall the discussion correctly. The thing is, see, STRICTLY speaking, Hasbro just has the StarTV dubbed versions of the shows, which were legally acquired by Sunbow at some point, and are now back in Hasbro's hands along with all the other TV shows formerly owned by Loonland. When Metrodome released the DVDs, they actually had to go and separately acquire the Japanese version to work with.
Well, hey, I don't think they've acquired Beast Wars, Beast Machines, RiD, Animated or the Unicron Trilogy either.
