Australian retail chain EzyDVD have updated their website page for Beast Wars: The Complete Collection to show a final version of the box art for the DVD set.

Kinda lazy, just recycling existing art or their existing covers.

 

Would these play on a standard U.S. dvd player? I am interested in a set that includes the headmasters series. From what I understand, I'd have to buy a region free dvd player?

 

Yeah, you would need a region free DVD player as these are region 4 DVDs.

 

The link to the Japan G1 set lists region 1, but yet says its for playback on PAL enabled systems. I'm a little confused by that.

 

It lists all regions, so it must be region free.  

 

They're unrelated things, y'see. "PAL" and "NTSC" are color-encoding systems - PAL is used in Europe and Australia, while NTSC is used in Japan and America (just for example). They're separate from regions... but then, these SHOULD be Region 4 (Australia), so maybe that part is wrong. Either way, you *will* need a TV that can play a PAL signal, but that's pretty standard.

 

Is there anyone that carries the Japanese G1 episodes in a NTSC format? I'd love to have these but going through the trouble of buying a new player seems to be a little too much for me.

Meh. Maybe if Beast Wars actually used artwork from the IDW Beast Wars: The Gathering comics, I would actually like it.

 

Woohoo! Hopefully these are decently priced, because New Zealand is region 4 as well, which means I can buy these! Awesome! Although Blu-ray... I don't have a Blu-ray player yet.......

 

Definitely saving up for that BW set. I have all the episodes, but those extras are well worth it!

 

Now for a set with BWII and BWN...

This may sound like a stupid question but would these play on an XBOX or a 360? Er, U.S. that is.
