Australian man breaks gaming marathon record with 135 hours of Black Ops II | Games Blog - Yahoo! Games Anyone care to beat that record?
Good god, I'd get bored after a couple hours. At least he didn't sit on his ass the whole time, it's good he took care to take a stretch and movie around every now and then. The sleep would have helped out alot.
Meh - they shouldn't allow breaks. And they certainly shouldn't allow unused break times to be accumulated so the guy can save enough of them to go for a nap. If you go take a nap during a gaming session then it's not really a marathon. I hope they didn't count those ten minute breaks as part of his 'marathon' time total. Not impressed.
Ditto. I read about this earlier (on the 'DailyFail', Starscream600!!) and was rather unimpressed that they allowed breaks.
if i feel like dying, i'll try to break that record. my own personal record is 30 hours. back when i was a teenager.
Fuck Off. That is all I have to say. No....actually I'll continue. A gaming marathon shouldn't contain breaks every hour.....christ....I bet there are ppl that put him to shame all the time all over the world when they sit glued to their consoles on the release of CoD. I've had my fair share of marathons/addiction in the Quake 2/Half Life deathmatch era back on dial up so this just doesn't cut it for me. Sorry.
135 hours? I get bored / restless after 1.35 hours, unless it's really good. I which case I might stretch to 2.35. I have no idea why someone would put themselves through that. I don't know, maybe I'm showing my age, but gaming has never held that much appeal for me.
Uh.. Is playing a game that long something to be proud of? I'd feel pretty ashamed if people found out I played something that long. Wasn't there a news story of some kid that died playing video games for several days.
Yeah I knew a few ppl that would play CS constantly...I never got into it tho. Unreal Tournament (the original one) was another classic I spent many an hour on. And to those asking if it is something to be proud of. Simple answer is no but it's the same as any addiction, just one more go, just one more map, just one more this, that or the other and minutes turn into hours.....without breaks I may add. Not on a marathon scale but I've just been playing FoC and what was meant to be a quick 20min blast has turned into an all morning sesh. Shit happens. Awesome game tho.....
Pfft, there's South Koreans who've died after MMORPG marathons that could show this amateur a thing or two!
Now, if he was playing with motion controls like a Wiimote or the Playstation Move, he'd be getting a workout at the same time.
I once did a 135 hour sleeping marathon. But every hour I had to wake up and play a computer game for ten minutes before going back to sleep. Hardcore.
