KMART Mt Gravatt The best place for new TF's! Today they had: Longarack Buzzsaw Blurr Sideways Snarl Runamuck Honestly they are the best! I live north side and they are southside but every time i go there it's worth it
And yet again, there's nothing in Queen St Mall I am so sick of finding that. At least Toyworld are going to replace my half-stickered Alpha because it's missing the Cyclone... heh. I guess that's cheaper than contacting the company for a replacement...
Was at Garden City today... in Kmart, Big W and Toys'r'us, they had: starscream/vector prime two-set (TRU), nothing except wave 1 deluxes and over... uh, the chicky one (Big W) and Longarack, Snarl and Blurr (Kmart). On the other hand, KMart Toowong has Superion, Devestator and Defensor KO giftsets for $16 each (got Defensor) and I got an Alt Dead End there, too. Oh, they've got the Armada repaints as well.
12 Shopping centres in 1 day! Wow wow wow, all in the hunt for LOC Screamers. KMart Toowong: 2 x Cybertron defence Red alert 1 x Scourge David Jones Toowong: 4 x Evac Multiple scouts 2 x Mudflap TRU Mt Gravatt: 6 x VS packs 6 x Starscream 1 x Sideways all other KMarts/BigW's/Targets had very little to really speak of. Way too many repaints were everywhere. If your from Brissie in a certain area LMK and i'll try to remember what was there edit: ps... i only found 2 LOC Screamers in that whole damm day
And I must have been in Big W in Queen St after you (I shot in there after work that evening) and there was still a LOC Screamer available then... I'm guessing you got the other one?
I saw Buzzsaw for the first time in Myer along with Mudflap, Snarl, Runamuck, Override and way to many Armourhides.
I just got Sideways ^^ The only one in the store, but there were a lot of other Cybertron toys from the latest wave released here... Kmart in Caloundra. Too bad nowhere's getting Alternators in anymore
Looks like Sideways is becoming more easy. Has any one spotted any Beast Wars 10th Annies yet? I can't wait to get my hands on some of those.
Well... Toyworld in the Queen St Mall has the SW Transformers... got the three they had ^^ I'm so excited! They're much cooler to play with than to see in images...
After about two months of no new Transformers from Hasbro Australia (other than the SWTF above, which are probably shipped with other SW toys), some new ones have finally been found. They're just TFC basics, and it means we have fallen behind America once again by a couple of months, after all that time being level or even ahead. Hopefully it means more new ones are being released now as well. It would be good to catch up with American releases again, but it will be expensive. Not sure what Hasbro Australia are doing, but every time we start getting some momentum with TF popularity here in Australia, Hasbro go and do something like this (stop releasing TFs for two months) to have most stores empty of TFs and loose newbie interest. From - http://otca.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=31&st=100# Spotted the next wave of basics today: Wreckloose Swindle (nice Hardtop repaint) Swerve (bad Clocker repaint) Backstop Brushguard (Overhaul repaint) Street Speed Minicons (bright Minicon repaints - like we need more MiniCons!) Were at both Target for $15.99 and Big W for $14.74 (or something very similar). (that's about US$12 and US$11.55 for basics - another one of Hasbro Australia's tactics to limit popularity of TFs here)
I'll be out on the hunt this weekend and will LYK of all the TF news in Brissie Stay tuned. Same Bat time. Same Bat channel.
I agree... a friend at work went to the US for a holiday august-september last year and picked me up Red Alert from there (about a month before he came out here, if that, by the time he got back), and with the exchange rate taken into account, and some change to round it up to the next dollar, he came to $15. Needless to say, I've since been most put out by paying almost twice that for deluxes before and since.
I got so fed up with the over-inflated prices here in Australia, I made it a point to speak to one of the Hasbro reps at BotCon last year. He said he'd look into it, but he didn't sound too convincing, and nothing's changed. He's in Marketting, but Australia wouldn't be his turf. Although, if a toyline like Transformers, which has been a top ten action figure toyline in America since Beast Wars, fails to even be noticed as a brand in another country, you'd think Hasbro in America would want some answers. Or at least care enough to see that maybe Hasbro Australia is overpricing themselves out of the market. If they want sales success for the movie, they need brand recognition - something they won't get if they price their product from 60-110% above American retail. Basic/Scout - should be AU$9.90 - instead its AU$14-17. Deluxes - should be AU$14.30 - but no, its AU$24-30! Mega/Voyager - should be AU$28.60 - instead is AU$40-50. Ultra - should be AU$35.70 - instead is AU$50-60. Super - should be AU$57.10 - is instead AU$70-100. Supreme - should be AU$71.40 - but we have to pay AU$90-150. Prices taken from - http://otca.invisionzone.com/index.php?showtopic=72 We have the same production run and packaging as the ones in America, and we are closer to the factories, so wholesale prices should be equal or less than in America. And yet, Hasbro has refused to give a plausable explination as to why there is obscene profiteering on TFs here. And I've seen their wholesale prices once before, so it's not the retail stores' fault. It's actually cheaper to get them bought and posted surface mail from America to Australia, and sometimes even by airmail! American fans take the retail prices for granted, without realising how expensive it is for a completist or semi-completist collectors, like myself. Going to BotCon each year brings some relief, because I can buy up big on retail, and carry them back with me on the plane, saving a fortune. I'm going toy hunting later today - I'm hoping I find some of those Star Wars TFs. And maybe a new Scout TFC or four.
Right on Griffin! I remember buying Beaswars deluxes in england for like 8 pounds when i was a kid thats like 20 aussie dollars. Swerve, Swindle, Brushguard and the Speed Minicon team. None of them interest me but if I see Wreckloose or Backstop they are mine! i see SW cracked and baught another beast
