Oh. That's a wave before the stuff that has been sporadically reported the past couple of months.

I like how kmart has cheaper transformers compared to other major retailers but the catch is they rarely ever stock the shelves

How the hell are you lot funding your plastic crack addiction this year? For those on the east coast, have you come into contact with 1kg 'bricks' washing up on beaches lately?

waiting for sales is definitely a strategy i'll be using. but this year is gonna have to be rather light on TF purchases for me, which is good cause i don't plan on buying entire waves of figures like with last year

Well, there's a thing I've wanted to ask for a while, but couldn't find a delicate way to do :)

I see so many people on here spending lots of money that they seemingly cannot afford to spend (literal kids, kids that aren't yet adult or financial, people who live in countries where it is usual to work several jobs for fuck all and be told that's how things should be, people selling everything because of sudden medical or other financial crises, and so on), and making statements along the lines of another dollar or two of price increase will cut them out of the hobby, and I have to wonder if I'm the odd one out.

I'm in my mid 40s and am about as financially secure as you can get in 2024 Australia without actually being a lottery winner, predator on the rest of society, or just born rich - I have a (reasonably) well-paying job in an industry that isn't going to go under with another pandemic or just a general economic downturn, and one that isn't going to be automated any time soon. And I don't have a lot that I actually want to spend money on - if I hadn't started spending it on Transformers in 2018 it simply would have accumulated (well, except for the diversion into MOTU)...

Anyway, this year is going to be a lot cheaper than the last few, with so very little on offer that interests me. At this point I want less than half of what we know is coming.

Well... Mildura is the 'ice' capital of Victoria. What did you say was your occupation? :D

Unfortunately I'm making money the slow way...

This hobby is a definitely more expensive than I would have anticipated. Forums like these help to find the best deals, which is a start.

I try to stick to my scope to keep costs 'reasonable'. Sometimes it means saying no to something I do really like but it can be a slippery slope for me when I start branching out. Or worse, dabbling in other toy lines...

I'm on a pension which makes staying in the hobby hard but I think I'd go nuts if I didn't at least keep my toe in the water. Luckily Legacy has been a godsend but not why you might think. There are very few figures I really need to collect outside G1 so it means maybe only one or two figures a wave. And I really need to begin reigning in the other lines outside of Transformers. I very easily get sucked in by what looks to be a cheap/affordable line to have it suddenly skyrocket due to distribution and having to buy overseas (looking at you MOTUO)

So, Haslab Omega Prime has been shown off, and is $250 USD, which is about $380 aud.

But, if we assume that EBGames/Zing will apply the same markup (which im sure has a reason to be there) as they did to Victory Saber and Deathsaurus, then Omega Prime should be costing around $450 aud, if my maths is correct.

Which, for what is essentially 2 gigantic commanders and a deluxe, is well worth the price in my opinion.

At that price I imagine you could get one form a scalper on ebay.

Looks like an impressive figure though. Maybe some of the local importers will bring him in for closer to the $250 USD price.

Have never bought a HasLab figure and looks like I'll be keeping that record.
