Some of you overseas folk may have heard but not had the opportunity to see last week South Park's season premiere ep. I don't even play MMORPGs but i was rolling out of my seat from this ep. Blizzard collaborated with the SP guys a lot and probably got some of the best advertising ever from this ep. Plus this beats the fun with ninja weapons ep by leaps n bounds. http://www.younewb.com/index.php/2006/10/05/full-video-of-new-wow-south-park-episode/ Plus theres a half dozen torrents out for the ep right now
Hysterical episode. I played WoW for a month. It just doesn't have the fun and depth of other MMO's out there though. Though it's a VERY good starting MMO for people with no MMO experience. It'll get them used to the basics before moving on to a better MMO.
I thought it started out strong, but I'm not sure the premise really justified a full episode. Actually I thought it started to peter out and get predictable after the boar scene. Part of me wishes that they just did the entire episode in the WoW universe with the SP players on a quest.
It was actually pretty funny how they handled the MMORPG. Especially Stan's dad trying to get in on the action.
that was kind of scary, made me want to go join a gym or something, and I don't even play any MMORPGs, never have either.
I played WoW for quite a while...I loved this episode. The use of the graphics and music from WoW was friggin brilliant.
I personally never played rpg's. My dad thought it was "cool" at the time back in 1998 so he bought me pokemon for christmas. I played it for 6 months, never beat it, and then lost the cartridge. It's around my house somewhere, I just don't know where exactly. So.....yeah I was never big into rgp's to begin with. I'm more of a shooter/3rd person/action/puzzle/racing/sim game player (basically anything but rpg's). I can't stand them. They take too long and I hate having to wait to hit my opponent while he has the time to bring hell down upon my weak experience-numbered ass. It just seems stupid to me. Why wait to hit your enemy when in "real life" you should just be able to run up and bust their teeth in. Heck, I'm even struggling along to finish Zelda:OOT on my good old N-64 and I still find myself playing Mario64 instead, beating it multiple times. Anyways, I do know people who play WoW. Thankfully they do have lives. I'll never know how they find the time but they can manage a 2nd "life." Still, this was by far one of the funniest episodes ever. I laughed my ass off when Cartman had to "go to the bathroom" near the end of the episode. My brother had to explain "R-****" and "Pwned/Owned/Pawned/Pwnage/etc" to me. You see, when I communicate in games by typing I take no spelling shortcuts since I type fast and don't feel the need to. And to agree with one of you ^up there^(I'm too lazy to quote you right now).....Yes I would enjoy seeing another WoW episode where they finally get to go on a quest.
Here is a link to the song that plays in the episode: http://72.14.253.104/search?q=cache:_kWZnIXgbzgJ:www.kissarmyaustralia.com/forum/viewtopic.php%3Ft%3D107+lyrics+live+to+win+till+you+die+till+the&hl=en&gl=us&ct=clnk&cd=1 It is from Paul Stanley's(from KISS) new yet to be released solo album.
Better than fun with Good Times with Weapons by "leaps n bounds"? You must be drunken something fierce. Those aren't even remotely like WoW. WoW is all real time. What you're talking about are JRPGs and just because they rake in the bigger bucks, don't cluster all RPGs into that same group.
I thought it was really good. I hadn't watched an episode since season 2 but this was a great episode
