I've had this Machinama in mind ever since about May when the Beta came out, and I wanted to start it on Halo 3, but with Reach coming out, it was delayed for that reason, as well as the fact that; a) I didn't have a cast. b) I didn't even write a full idea on it. Now that it's August and Reach is under fifty days away from us, and after realising that TFW even has a Halo: Reach thread (yes, only about ten minutes to go, I ask, will some of you be interested in casting your voice talent in Alpha and Beta (Just a working title maybe)? If you agree to this entirely you may end up having to give up or give in to more time on your Xbox and sending me voice clips. I have a maximum of six open slots, those of you who don’t make it and are interested, I will gladly consider you as recurring characters or write you into the next season if we can make it that far. As for a snippet at the plot? Beta Team; possibly one of the most highly trained teams in the universe. Never failing with a task, but they’ve never faced Alpha Team. Alpha Team; complete stuff ups. It’s a miracle that they haven’t been blow to hell yet, but no matter what Beta Team throws at them to try and eliminate them, it always backfires on them in a hilarious and humiliating way. Episode one I wanted to have Beta Team sort of throw an assault at the Alphas. A tank with the other four ground troops, but when Alphas testing out the holograms in there armour, they all try it out and shoot it off in a direction which makes Beta think they’re attacking. Beta changes course and goes after the holograms. One of the Alphas tries out his jetpack and fly’s around and blocking the sun, making the guy in the tank on Beta jump out to watch the “eclipse”. An Alpha takes the tank like he “pre-ordered from ebay.” As the other Betas are attacking the holograms, they realise they fooled. At the same realisation, Alpha try to take the tank through their new vehicle teleporter, but send only the tank without the driver (they push it with a Warthog). It disappears, and doesn’t come out where it was meant too. Beta Team argue over why they had the tank in the first place, during that time, a tank falls from the sky over there base, destroying it. An Alpha says Beta must have some kind of party going on with fireworks. Hope you like the idea, and yes I do have names jotted down for each member of each team but I wasn’t too comfortable releasing the names just yet. Hope some of you guys are interested.
If you need somebody with a deeper voice, I'm all for the job. I don't know how fantastic i sound on my mic but we can give it a try.
I like the idea a lot - it's just different enough from "Red vs. Blue" to not get too much flak. However it's going to depend ENTIRELY on the writing and the cinematography. If you write the dialogue and it doesn't sound natural, this will never work. That's a lot of work, I hope you're ready for it.
I think I am ready for this... I may be fifteen but you should never underestimate that. In fact Red vs. Blue was the main idea that pulled me in for making this, and it's slightly based around that atmosphere of comedy but can stand on its own without recycling any of the idea's Rooster Teeth already came up with. So the main idea was, why not make a team who are unbelievably strategic and tough but always get there asses kicked by a bunch of idiots? Season one or the first ten or so episodes from season one will be fooling around, but then I plan for a thicker plot. But that's great, I'm glad some of you guys are keen on the idea. I really didnt have a voice in mind for any of the characters, but at the moment, there could be either ten or eight characters in total from each team. But these are the open characters you guys can choose from; Beta; Reynolds: Team's weapons specialist. Tough, strong, but stupid with common sense, tends to try and avoid conversations with people. O'Spatche: This guy could be portrayed with an accent or not, but the thing with him is he's sort of a Black Ops kind of guy. Just two guys for now because I have to go practice something.
Thanks so much guys, I really appreciate this. I just need to get a new mic during the week, is anyone free this weekend to meet myself and the other four members of the cast for some Halo 3 and some talks over the stories? Maybe after that we can sum up whose who? If any of you guys can't do it we can always PM here.
Well if you guys are still interested I still have to get my mic in about two weeks, so my gamertag's in my sig, send me a message on LIVE and we can play around a bit with what we wanna do.
I'm interested. I've been wanting to do a Halo machinima for sometime, but to be honest, I'm not necessarily the "creative force" that I could be.
It sounds like a really good idea as long as you land the humor parts the right way. I'd be totally interested in doing a voice! I have Audacity so I can edit the clips if you wanted me to. The only possible issue with me is that I don't have a Gold membership as of yet. I have a monthlong trial I'm saving for when the game comes out. I'll try to get Live sometime soon, but I don't have much of an allowance so it'll probably be Christmas when I can get online again fully. Maybe I could try for season 2?
Yeah, deffinetly Wall-E. And Eric, the creativeness doesnt really matter, it could always just be your normal voice, then gets matched to the charatcer.
Hey don;t know if you still need voices but I can get on next week. Until than if you cant some voice clips or what not I can do that anytime. PM me or let me know here.
