The ending itself was just fine though. It wasn't perfect, as nobody learned anything from their actions, but it was still a better ending than many other series have gotten. With the way you and others talked, I was expecting the ending to be a complete crapshoot that made no sense. The part that made no sense was what lead to the events of the final battle, not the ending itsself.

So they're basically two TV movies then. Interesting.

I liked the first episode. It did a pretty good job of lining up all the players for the big finale.

Did end like the manga or did they pull some bullshit like the Death Note anime did?

I didn't read the manga, but I didn't mind the ending.

It ended pretty much the way the manga did, but with some tweaked edits to character dialogue and additional lines, especially in the conversation between Armin and Eren.

Iseyama had regrets about some of the clumsy dialogue particularly with Armin in the manga, and it seems the final episode of the animation addressed and fixed some of that.

Oh, and Levi gets to do some more action-y things but still ends up where he did in the manga.

The end credits showed some animation that I thought was pretty symbolic.

It was almost 1/1 but they changed a few things, first they removed Armin's line thanking Eren for mass murdering humanity
    1.png Screenshot 2023-11-05 145650.png

Then when Eren got asked why he trampled humanity, in both he says he just wanted to see it happen and then this manga panel happens saying he didn't know why. But in the anime they added he was an idiot.

And the Paradis/Eldian genocide happens way way later in the anime

And they didn't clearly show Mikasa's Husband, Child, and families visiting Eren's grave (instead being a tiny shot on the side playing on the credits with fast editing, making people think she stayed single to further push the EreMika angle) chapter-139-extra-pages-spoilers-v0-a4rnzmugfig81.jpg F-JMiBoaMAAVlMg.jpg

Ok. Watched it. Loved it. Felt satisfying.

Thank you. I was wondering about that, it all flicked by so quick, but
I'm glad Mikasa got to have a family and a happy life after Erin. So I guess the rest of the world got scared and blew up Paradise, resulting in a few thousand years later, that kid finding the tree and getting a new parasite founding titan thingy to kick it all off again in a cycle of revenge and death.

So ultimately, Erin failed and caused Paradise to get wiped out by the outside world by trying to protect it with the rumbling.

and that person buried in white very quickly in the end credits was an old Mikasa her family buried. Why didn't they show her face then? Just a minor question.

Overall, a very good show and I thoroughly enjoyed this ride over the last ten years.

    About the ending epilogue
Yeah it's weird they didn't show her face, in the manga they showed it from nose down but it's clear anyways that it is her with the red scarf.

Yes at the end the 20% of the outside word that Eren didn't kill recovered and eventually retaliated, which is where the time era is changed. If you look at my previous post when Mikasa and her families are visiting Paradis is already established and developed, and after she gets buried then gets destroyed. In the anime it was just grass plains with the establishments just starting to build around the tree after she got buried, and even more time passed and showed how in the future it was when the bombing happened.

The time change is important because in the manga while Mikasa (and presumably the rest of the cast) lived just long enough to die of old age, before the nation perished due to retaliation of the outside world. In the anime it is so far into the future that the people Eren did the Rumbling for would have been long gone.

Making the manga Paradis carpet bomb happening directly because of the Rumbling, than the anime ver.

Not a fan of them trying to downplay Eren turning into a psychopath by making him call himself an idiot, as that kind of ruins him doing such, but whatever.

Thanks for posting all of this.
