I have the SDCC edition Fort Max with the Takara style Emissary head. I'd actually like to have both versions of Emissary. I've heard there are some releases of Head..er...Titan Master figures on their own. Is there any possibility of getting the US version Emissary this way? I think the Titan Master figures are being released in sets, which I wouldn't mind. It would be cool to have extras to populate Fort Max. (Too bad the pegs don't match up with Minicons, though I do have some og Micro Masters figures that I haven't tried yet.)
None that makes any sense. Hasbro released both versions of the Emissary already. Takara might do some kind of special release of the Hasbro retail Fort Max titan masters at some point. Also read up: Titans Return (toyline) - Transformers Wiki
Perhaps you need to read up too. : The head figures themselves, (ie. Emissary), are referred to as Master class figures. (ie. Titan Masters.) Yes, both versions are out, but that would require me to drop another $150+ just to get a tiny figure that would be under $10. I don't expect Hasbro to put out the version of Emissary from the SDCC Fort Max, since it's supposed be limited edition. The one I'm after is the regular one that comes with standard US Fort Max.
trenttroop has released several different heads to represent that very titanmaster in shapways. check his thread out in the radicons....
Perhaps you need to read up... The Titanmaster single releases are not the same Titanmasters as the other larger figures as in there are no single releases of Emissary, Hyperfire, Duros etc
If you wanted the US(and, shockingly, the far superior) version of Cerebros' head, Maybe you should have given up the sword, spent a little less, and bought the US version of Fort Max instead.
That's not really what he was saying. I've got the SDCC FortMax and don't regret the purchase, but I would jump at the chance to ALSO have a rebirth-style headmaster. I agree with Lars that Hasbro releasing Spike on his own seems very unlikely. I could see them releasing Fortress on a card, but that doesn't help Goldbug or myself. There's an outside chance that Takara will release Spike in some form, but I expect it would be part of a very expensive set.
Hopefully TT releases Spike with the upcoming new Legends Bumblebee. They've been including Headmasters with the Legends figures for this line.
Oh, fwiw my SDCC Fort Max didn't come with the trading card either. (It did come with a big cardboard "poster" though--and I already have the Fort Max lithograph that was given out with the Japanese G1 DVD box set from Shout Factory.)
speaking of the sword, does anyone else feel like the nubs on the bottom of the segment pegs are completely unnecessary and only make it so 90% of figures cant hold them?
Honestly, I think the SDCC (aka Japanese style) head is marginally superior. That said, I do prefer the Rebirth pacifist characterization of Cerebros of the Japanese one. (Tho Japan Cerebros is still cool in his own right.) Yeah the reasons are twofold: 1. Multiple head options are always nice. 2. mini-bots to populate Fort Max. Yes, I know I could just use other more easily obtainable Titan Masters to populate Fort Max, (and I probably will get some), but they wouldn't be as cool.
There is mean't to be Blind Bag releases of titan/head masters. We haven't heard much about it yet but i hope that is going to provide us lot's of options. I find the packs with the head and vehicle a bit too pricy myself, don't need the vehicles, so am hoping the blind bags come through.
