At this point, does it matter if Bee gets his voice back?

Just to expand on the Bee tangent the trailer thread has gone off on, it makes me wonder what the pros and cons are of Bee getting his voice back.

It's seems likely to me, Bee was almost talking in AoE , he has his voice back in the animated world, and if they want bee to carry a solo movie, he's gotta be talkin, hasn't he?

What do you think are the chances and hints that bee will be talking in TF5, and why would it be good or a bad thing at this stage?

Transformers media seems to be shifting away from the mute Bumblebee trend.

With sqweeks only saying chihuahua or whatever, sounds like they're having trouble getting past their Astromech envy entirely!

I think Bee will get his voice back but not till the end of the movie when he's Knighted. Just my own guess.

That's what i figured ever since prime got his upgrade in AOE. Seems logical. It also circumvents the "why couldn't ratchet do that?" criticisms people would have if a random medbot just managed to fix bees voice!

The mute Bee shtick has long since become old. He needs to have his own voice, and as much as I respect Mark Ryan, his voice is way too mature for movie Bee. The character needs a more youthful voice to go along with the young Bot the movies had made him out to be.

Like the Optimus as the leader shtick? Or Starscream as a traitor shtick?

It's part of his character. Honestly the movies are the one place Bumblebee being mute works for me, because it was an original idea and has been almost entirely consistent over close to a decade now. It's who the character is, and I understand why changing it is an undesirable move by Paramount/Hasbro. Bumblebee as the voiceless, cheeky scamp is thoroughly engrained in people's minds. It's almost as iconic now as Optimus or Megatron. You gotta have it in this continuity, it's just what the character is. For as much as people lost their shit over every new character that's revealed for being different, changing Bumblebee's character at this point would ellicit the exact same response from the majority of he public. Randomly making Bumblebee not mute would be just as annoying to people as it would be to randomly make Optimus mute.

Maybe in the Bumblebee movie, which will have plenty of time to legitimize the change for people, but not this movie.

Optimus fixed his voice problems, unless I missed something in the TLK teaser trailer.

Characters that don't evolve die, that's it. Since he doesn't die he has to change!

Bayverse chose to make Bee mute. He wasn't mute in G1, Animated, RiD, or Rescue Bots. He was mute in Prime (taken from the Movie verse Bee) until the last episode and following Prime movie. Unlike Prime, who has been leader throughout or Starscream who was always conniving behind Megs back.
I respect your liking a mute Bee, but for me, it's become really old. :)

Maybe they could get by with it for the Last Knight even though it seems like for a good many people the mute thing went from cute to annoying several films ago. It's tough to say how big Bumblebee's role will be in the Last Knight but my gut feeling is that the box office isn't going to hinge on Bumblebee.

Now the solo Bumblebee movie it could be a huge deal. It seems like it's going to be tough enough to convince the everyone that shows up for the Transformers movies to show up for just mute Bumblebee.

Change is not the same as evolution. And clearly they don't, because after ten years of being mute, he's still popular and is even getting his own movie. So, no, seems like consistency is just as rewarding as evolution.

And I could use that exact same vague logic to hand-wave away any change in the films, and even the films themselves. But like I said, keeping a consistent lore in your continuity is good. It sets up baselines that people can follow, whilst still changing other aspects for interest. We saw how much change turned people off when Bumblebee became mute in the first place. Your disdain for his lack of vocie is the exact same reason the film makers want to keep him voiceless.

That's what Optimus is doing in TLK trailer, giving Bee throat/voice box surgery.
