We know Asylum is famous for their rip offs from big titles. How I found out about this title was when I did bash Bayformers infront of my friends, they like me did not enjoy the movies, and one of them told me that their is a movie that is soo bad, it should not been out in the market. He showed me the Transmorphers. OMG that was a bad flick. It had it all, bad soundtrack, bad actors, bad plot. This movie made bayformers look good, and I still think Bay could have done better. Transmorphers (Video 2007) - IMDb I could not stop laugh at this movie. If any of you have seen it, what was your reaction?
Surprising Asylum never rip off Dark of The Moon,maybe it having something to do with a Human working with the villains plot twist.
Transmorphers 2: Fall of Man was bad. Really, REALLY bad. See also, Metal Shifters / Iron Invaders. There's a whole genre of Mechsploitation popping up these days.
Some of the CGI effects in it were not too bad though. That cell phone spider thing actually looked pretty cool and not cheap at all.
It's too bad they couldn't make anything of it. Transformers could use some competition. With the standard set by Bay, it shouldn't be hard to come up with something. Sometimes I think it's unfortunate Hasbro ended up with the Gobot rights. They haven't done much with it. Transmorphers was bad on every level. It's not even fun bad. It's a total bore. I know they don't have a lot of money, but it was such dull, lifeless nonsense and it really struck me as the kind of boring movie made by boring people with almost no personality whatsoever. Michael Bay movies are bad, but they're at least entertaining bad. And so many bad low-budget movies have at least some redeeming qualities. None were to be found here.
I enjoyed part 2 WAY more than part one. Nevertheless, these rip-off are way too much fun. THem and Sci-fi originals are my guilty pleasures.
