Just got this game today, and I am loving it so far. Combines the free-running and fighting elements of Arkham Asylum, and puts you as an assassin instead of Batman. Story isn't as good as Batman: AA though.
And of another update, I beat the game today, and clocked in a little over 14 hours. Great story, great graphics, and great gameplay. Enjoyed every minute of this game. Now I need to go back and get the rest of the trophies I don't have so I can get the Platinum trophy for the game.
Things I need to do in AC2: Get the remaining 100 treasure chests (mainly in Forli and Venice). Do the remaining courier missions. Do the remaining races. Kill some more guards in revenge for picking fights with me. See how many more times AC2 will crash whilst Ezio is wearing the Altair armour. Edit: Make the annoying box holding guys, drop their boxes, because those guys annoy me, whilst they're carrying their boxes.
You must be into comics, don't get me wrong Batman was a awesome game but the story just seemed so pieced together. Batman story was just a typical beat-em up story go here and free these guys or you must go here and find the cure. Assassins creed was based loosely on events of the time period and was much easier to follow. Dare I say it was almost educational?
It didn't follow historical events THAT cloesly. The ending was really cool, though. I do like the story, but Batman had one of those stories that seemed more together than Assassin's Creed. I say that because some of the stuff in the game just didn't seem to fit right in the game, like the ending. It reminded me a lot of the last game. Besides, I am a little bias towards Arkham Asylum since I have been waiting for a good Batman game for a LONG time.
Your right they changed some historical events to go with the game that is why I said loosely. Yes the very end was confusing, I wish that part of the game didn't exist. The developers did a lot of research on the time period so some of the details are quite accurate. Now minus all the Assassinations and some history changes my wife found this game very interesting as she was doing a report on Galileo and was surprised at how accurate the game was. Who has not been waiting on a good super hero game? I am looking forward to the sequel.
My opinion. AC2 had the better story, even being a a big Batman comics fan. Batman was an absolutley awsome game but AC2 was a better game, to me, overall. Also, I bought this game twice even after I got all 1k/1k achievements. I found a Master Assassin's Edition and had to drop the $80 to go alongside my AC1 CE. I'll just give my nephews my original copy.
I loved Batman, but its story was essentially "Joker takes over the asylum to try and spread super mutants across the city." I loved all the little backstories the side characters got but much of it was taken from the comics. AC2 has a much more nuanced and "human" story. As far an funfactor goes, I had a blast with both and it's really hard to decide.
what is this game like cause i got it for christmas and i heard it is pretty good. it was rated 10 out of 10
I think both are pretty far out. An asassin jumping from roof tops and killing people, and a man dressed up as a bat. I love it. Good story, great gameplay, and amazing graphics.
What you do is far out, sure, but I was just talking about the story itself. The cutscenes in Assassin's Creed just had a much more realistic approach and lots of different personalities that felt less comic book and more realistic. Not to insult Batman though, 'cause I loved the game.
my opinions on the game is pretty much your one way travel ticket to past time Venice. It's art is colorful, the animation is fantastic and fluid, and the story well... cliffhangers do help pave ways to sequels well. AC2 pretty much improved everything in AC1. Unless you were more into realistic free climbing. Ezio can be compared to batman in ways, james bond in others. But in the end he comes out as human as possible. He grows as you play visually and in the way he acts.
