if that fails... which i'm praying for you it doesn't, yell 'ATTACK' while truning to the fans, and see what happens. You'll probably start a giant tsunami of fans attacking the jerks who took away the best show on television right now. (gives you cybercupckes... cuz i'm not hunting down ppl to give real ones to. that falls under some sort of stalking law)

Just like the Joe fans, same problem.

Fans:We want (Joe 25th/Modern Era, TF Animated & Universe)

Hasbro: We have these Movie Toys coming out and we shelved the other lines so you have to buy them.

    Fans: But...

    Hasbro: MOVIE, MOVIE, MOVIE!!!!!!!!!

GI Joe maybe, but Transformers was a little more complex than that.

I think Hasbro's really shoving the Movie stuff in front of our faces.

Note Hasbro comes to these conventions, not Wal-Mart or Target representives. The stores them selves don't even shove it in our faces. With that being said. I have a couple of questions and observations.

Did we see any other toyline than RoTF at Toy Fair earlier this year?
    Nope!

Same goes for all the other convetions.

Will we see see any other toyline than RoTF at Bot Con this year?
Let's see: Animated is "cancelled" while Universe is on hiatus. What's the only other line remaining? RoTF. Not much variety.

I bet the toyline will sell a lot and then we'll get a year of RoTF stuff even when the hype dies down. Then, we get Universe and new toon with probably same aesthetics as ROTF til Movie 3 which will be in 2011. Then, we get another year's worth of Movie stuff. Only after movie 3, fans can hope that a variety of toylines can truly return instead of taking almost a year's worth of only movie stuff. By that time, Hasbro will lose a large portion of their customers.

Perhaps, but it comes down to the same thing. Animated and Universe being shelved for Movie Product. Some 25th Line Hasbro.

I see Animated being cancelled and Universe put on hiatus as a real blessing in disguise. The ROTF toys do nothing for me, so I can look forward to several months of saving instead of spending.

    Thank you Hasbro.

You guys need to get the ROTF Sideswipe, he is such a cool bot!

I do think Hasbro really has gone for all their eggs in 1 basket. I think ROTF will do well, but GI Joe I think may tank. Either way diversity is the name of the game.

I just don't like the Bay Bots look. I MIGHT get Sideways just because he's an Audi R8 but I really have zero plans to get any of this line.

ive always wondered if the main character structure of a cartoon makes it harder to keep the toy line going, for example anyone who starts watching animated now wont be able to purchase many of the main characters of the show as they were all wave 1 - wave 2. Thus the longer a show and toyline continues the harder it must be to allow casual viewers/ children to purchase the toys they want. obviousely this worked ok in beast wars when they constantly changed the main characters and upgraded them e.g transmetals to go along with the toy line, but in a show where the main characters remain the same its hard to do this. maybe someone could ask a question like this at botcon

I bet we have nothing but movie toys until about 6 - 9 months before the next movie. They will tease us with a handful of Universe repaints and then 2 more years of movie toys.

After the movies had had their run, I figure it could go 2 ways. People could get burnt out on the movie designs or they could be generally accepted as what a Transformer is and should continue to be.

When you say "large portion of their customers"... In that you mean a "statistically insignificant portion of the small sub-set of adult collectors?"

You do know the movie lines were amazingly successful with the core demograpic which is close to 85%+ of the sales and in both situations they rushed out TFtM and RotF toys early to meed the demand of the overwhelming majority of customers.

Are there kids who are losing sleep over the availability of Roadblock ultra Magnus or Atomic Lugnut or any of the end of line repaints for animated? I doubt it.

I think adult fans have unreasonable expectations and are always demanding kids like what 'they' want so it will justify a mass retail release. Hasbro isn't throwing the movie in OUR faces, we just happen to forget we are standing in a crowd surrounded by children, mostly boys ages 5-11. It seems we want 'our wants' thrown in the faces of children until they only accept things that we like so we can then buy our 'wants' for 10.99$.

I do wish you the best of luck getting any sort of answer out of Hasbro that isn't movie related. We've hardly started this nothing but movie era and I'm already bored to death of nothing that catches my interest.

Seconded. Whatever info you get and pass along will be welcome news, if just for closure's sake.

Also, feel free to abase yourself in public if that's what it takes to determine what is happening with the canceled figures. I don't think anyone here will mind.
