Making the head turn is quite easy. Once you remove it, there's a tiny bit of plastic that's been keeping it in place. Cut it out and he can turn his head 360°. It is a tad loose though but maybe you can fix that.

For the head I used the shoulder ball joint from the arm of a Fall of Cybertron Optimus, I used the drimmel pieces to carefully make the hole of his head big enough to fit the thing.

I have to say, I got a kick out of the background of the second “head” pic. That’s allot of red and blue parts piled up behind all those shavings. Exactly how many figures does it take to do this lol?

Well I’ve tried to make this before with an old g2 Prime 3 years ago, but I messed up badly on it. So once I decided to pick it up again, I took a different approach. The main figure I used is obviously g1 Optimus, but I used parts of different figures. For the legs I used the deluxe battle pack Optimus, the waist I plan on using RID StrongArms, the shoulder ball joints from the deluxe Optimus again, and the head ball joint is FOC Optimus/Magnus shoulder joint.

Go big or go home you know.

    These hips don’t lie

What I did for them was I cut the Ball Joints off of StrongArms waist, and I took the moving arm joint thing and glued them where the Ball Joints used to be.
I used the arm/shoulder/Idontknowwhattocallit so that when it transforms the legs can come together so the trailer hitch lines up. As seen below

I wish Hasbro made a line of figures like this
They just have that antiquated look that you don’t see in any other TF series. While other lines like Macross have kept their original aesthetic.

This is what I’m hoping to achieve

It’s not completely finished yet, right now it’s just sitting on top of each other.

I just realized that the cab you’re using for this custom is the version of the Prime mold that I need to restore mine lol. What are the odds. The square shape where the smoke stack attaches to the shoulder gave it away. Believe it or not, it’s different enough that most of the upper body parts and pieces won’t just swap to other molds, I’ve tried...

Either way, looks like all you need to do is tuck that waist inside the hip cavity and you’ve got it. Any plans for shoulder joints?

So far, the folding hips look like the hardest part. Would you be willing to take a few more pics of that to show how you have things glued together?

I wish I would’ve taken pictures of it when I modded this. Also I’m using the 2019 reissue. It might have some similarities to the one you are restoring but the axel and wheels were not pressure fit on the reissue.

...crap, now I need to go get the reissue and see if it matches the mold I have. I didn’t realize the one you’re using is the new one.

Yeah I see the difference. I think I said I was using the reissue in my op but I’m not sure.

First photos. Arms haven’t been altered yet

I fixed the torso with part of the Classics Voyager Optimus Grill. Now I need to attach the wheels and rig the arms.
