i'm kinda exited its coming. it looks fun.

i hope someone makes mods to put bender, luffy, piccolo, and a bunch of other arm strechy people there are in it..

A neat detail that you can see in the thumbnail image of one of those videos is that all these 'natural' ARMS users have spiral iris shapes - Mechanica is the only one with normal eyes because her arms aren't stretchy.

 

Nintendo has a contender, this keeps looking more and more great.

 

Between this and Splatoon 2 looking like that franchise grew right the fuck up (single player seems to be turning the entire lore on its head), these should have been launch titles for the platform.

Makes me wonder why they weren't.

i read somewhere that the makers are aiming really high, and i hope they reach it!

i'm hoping one day a character from both is playable in smash...and i don't mean as costumes! i actuallu surprised an inkling isn't one already!

 

Because that would be a stupid decision and these games would have been. Canabalized by BotW.

I dunno. ARMS probably needed more time, whereas Splatoon 2 probably could have been a launch game.

Still, BOTW was the big factor. Splatoon 2 would not have been as big of a launch title compared to BOTW i would wager.

i'm only guessing that one of the previous femfighters were his "chosen one" and he was upset because he chose too early!

 

It's funny how on the game's reveal a few months back I saw a lot of people write off ARMS as a "casual party game," but there really seems to be a lot of depth to how you play it now. Just goes to show that people shouldn't just make assumptions right out the gate.

 

I think early on, the whole weapon system wasn't even explained - it was just people with slinky arms punching each other.

Ashens said it felt like something that was little more than a glorified party game because all they had at the time was boxing gloves and all you did was punch each other. Now you've got wire-guided missiles, shock-bombs, boomerangs, defensive shields, whatever the fuck Helix does, and laser dragons.

Now? It's very much a next generation Punch-Out!! except in multiplayer. And Slinky arms.

 

Whats even the setting for this game. Are they robots? Cyborg enhanced poople?

 

Sounds like some kind of genetic 'gift' for those who aren't either science creations (Helix) or straight up mechanical (police dude and dog, Mechanica) - pay attention to their eyes and you'll see most of them have spiral iris shapes where applicable (except Mechanica for reasons stated).

Its literally just its own thing, but people suddenly wake up one day to find they have ARMS, no one knows how you get them it just happens, Springman the main character says thats what happened to him.

Scientists were looking into it but in the process there was an accident and the character Helix was created.

The direct video showed a possible boss battle with what might be the force behind it.
