Since people aren't 100 percent satisfied with the now,I thought I'd kick it old school
The unicron trilogy is a series of toys I know very little about so I'm wondering which one do people consider best/worst and why
I'm looking to discover this series and would like a little guidance

    cybertron > energon > armada

cybertron by far is the best. so many good molds.

energon would probably be next for me. a lot of cool experimentation there, as well as combiners and such. some toys look pretty bulky/goofy though.

armada I just don't even know. no interest in anything from that line since I've been into collecting.

    Cybertron is the best overall.
Energon's Decepticons are the best part of that line, as well as some figures like Wing Saber.
There are some real gems in Armada, like Overload, but for the most part you're there for the Mini-Cons.

All 3 lines follow the same principles though: Buy Optimus & his power-ups. Buy Megatron. And there are a few good figures here and there as well.

All Cybertron toys are good. Very few duds in that line.

    Energon Decepticons are awesome.

From Armada there are only 2-3 good molds worth purchasing.

It's funny you mention decepticons from energon because its the galvatron /megatron which stirred my interest in the series (energon) and I figured armada and cybertron were very similar ,but I've seen a lot of displeasure towards armada expressed by people.

Personally I'd rather have my Energon toys over my Cybertron or Armada. Looking back at it Cybertron did have the better molds.

Armada had a specific style which I think was targetting younger kids. Articulation was limited, but he proportions and design were very specific to the show and gimmick.

I liked Energon toys. But Cybertron was a near perfect line. Something for everyone.

Although I was not really a fan of the cyber key gimmick, I would have to agree that Cybertron > Energon > Amada.

Based on what I have seen on the boards over the years, it sometimes feels like I am one of a select group that enjoyed the Deluxe Energon Autobots and how they combined. The omnicons were really fun too.

    Cybertron was pretty great overall.

Energon had its moments, such as the Maximus combiners (very good for their day).

Armada... We got Mini-Cons, thats about the extent of that line being interesting. Oh, and Unicron. And I'm sure there's at least a few other gems.

Cybertron probably has the largest number of good toys, but Armada did manage to crank out three of my favorite TFs: Tidal Wave, Unicron & Overload. I'd actually put Energon at the bottom just because nothing from that line really stands out to me. It's not a bad line, but all of the best toys in it are Armada repaints.

There shouldn't be any disagreements as to which is the best.

Most consider, as you have seen, Cybertron is the best. Having been with the ACE universe for a while, I love most of Cybertron's molds.

HEre are some of my recommendations from each line: (note that I consider these to be mold superiority, not character appearance)

    Cybertron:
    Primus
    Metroplex
    Optimus Prime
    Megatron
    Dark Scorponok
    Cybertron Defense Red Alert
    Wing Saber
    Soundwave
    Cybertron Defense Scattorshot
    Dark Crumplezone
    Vector Prime
    Mudflap
    Downshift
Cybertron Defense Hot Shot (or Road Buster repaint)
    Landmine
    Scrapmetal (and all its variations)
    Armorhide
    Scattorshot

    Energon:
    Optimus Prime
    Omega Supreme
Optimus Prime (if you like Power Rangers)
Tidal Wave (better than Armada Paint job imo)
    Scorponok
    Landmine
    Bulkhead (or quickstrike)
Ironhide and Cliffjumper (these two were the best combi I found in Voyager)
    Dreadwing
    Shockblast
    Inferno
    Starscream
    Prowl
    Sharkticon
    Tow-Line
    Ravage
    Strongarm
    Perceptor Team
    Divebomb
    Skyblast
    The combiners (Devy, Superion, Bruticus)

    Armada:
    UNICRON!!!!!!!
    Optimus with Jetfire + Overload
    Red Alert
    Starscream (and his bros)
    Cyclonus
    Demolishor
Smokescreen (if only for the cannon)

Toy wise, I'd say Cybertron was the best, most articulation in general, mostly unhindered by their gimmicks, etc. I have a soft spot for armada and cybertron. Armada was my first series, and cybertron was fun to watch. I hated Energon. :|

Everyone loves Cybertron so much but I'm actually a bit nostalgic for Armada now. A big part of that is mini-cons which I still think was one of the most innovative ideas ever. The bigger toys were pretty awesome as far as actually playing with them as opposed to whether they could do yoga or not. Tidal Wave, Overload, Jetfire, Scavenger, Optimus' trailer - all fun to play with.

While I appreciate the return of microns, it just isn't the same. They don't unlock weapons or anything.

Yeah, going to have to agree with Cybertron > Energon > Armada, easily.

Armada was too gimmick-driven, and articulation was bad across the board. It had some really awesome character designs, but the toys wound up with no articulation (Sideways in particular). I do really, really dig the Minicons. But most of the best Minicons we've gotten have come in later lines anyway.

Energon had its pieces of gold, but the fact that most of the Autobots were mediocre at best is hard to recover from (due to be Powerlinx gimmick dragging them down). Plus Optimus Prime himself is... bad. The Terrorcons and Omnibots are delightful, though, as were most of the Decepticons. And Landmine, which I really want.

Cybertron had pretty universally solid figures. The Cyber Key Gimmick was usually well-executed, and in most cases actually felt like it enhanced the figure, rather than detracted. Plus there was a lot of diversity in designs, what with the different planets. Though Soundwave sucked. That's a shame.

Um, I'm seeing no mention of the double-headmaster emissary of Unicron hailing from the planet X. That needs to be rectified.

    He was so good.
