Hi, found my armada thunderracker while tidying up, and thought well.... it could go with some of the newer stuff but it needs more joints! like the legs could do with outward movement etc. I have alot of bionicle legos and perhaps adding ball joints could do it. Thing is I have never done any modding and have no idea what to do :/ anyone done this and could show me pix of theirs? and a few tips and stuff. thanks I love the work you guys do, some god damn awsome customs on here! I have no artistic skill at all, I am quite envious!
man, I think its Redline who has this really kickass tutorial from the late Transtopia on exactly this subject. You should contact him.
I think someone posted an old Transtopia link, but most of the images were missing. Perhaps someone that's done this can post a brand new tutorial here.
it was really nothing unusual. Balljoint hips and shoulders (i think), a ball jointed head, and a hinge on the back pack so it could lay down against his back instead of just being there.
sorry, I've been REALLY busy. Anyway, Napjr is who you wanna get with, check out our gallery of his Ramjet custom: Ramjet Super-Articulated - Armada Customs - TFW2005.COM I did get all the photographs saved, but I didn't get the text (it was 7 MASSIVE pages of text and photos). It was so time-consuming, plus NO one knows anything about Pepie's whereabouts (he's the author), he's literally disappeared, for 3 years now. But, Napjr's done it, so he could help.
Lookie what i found! Napjr to the rescue!!! Redline! copy this! Transtopia :: A Kitbashers Resource Site Transtopia :: A Kitbashers Resource Site Transtopia :: A Kitbashers Resource Site Transtopia :: A Kitbashers Resource Site Transtopia :: A Kitbashers Resource Site
Already done, bro. all on my HDD as PDF files now. I just have to dig up those photographs I saved 2 years ago before the site went under, to be able to put it all together. That archive site didn't save any imagery, the background graphic, the header banner, none of them, but it at least does let you right-click where an image is supposed to be to find out what the file name was, so that'll make it easier for me to know what picture goes where. I will be formatting my HDD here really soon (just finished backing everything up yesterday), so it'll have to wait until after that before I can even bother.
