I snagged a Universe Ultra Magnus and Treadshot from one of our friends in the Junkion a few weeks ago. The Universe Ultra Magnus is cool once you swap the misassembled forearm pieces. Then I moved on to Treadshot. I figured it can’t be that bad. He doesn’t look that bad in car mode. In fact it looks like a Stunticon Dead End homage.

The flip out features for the little bike guy was kind of cool too. Then I made the mistake of transforming the two. They should’ve put a warning label on this thing. It caused headaches, nausea, and bowel discomfort. I’ve seen some ugly Transformers before but this out-uglies all of them. I can’t figure out why Hasbro would bother to re-release this mold not once but twice. Already this hunk of junk is hogging peg space.

I loved the reaction this one guy had when he reached for Cybertron Runamuck or whatever the remold is. “Hmm, not bad (turns package around to have a look), man!?! this thing looks stupid!?!” (places back on shelf).

So there you have it my opinion on this doody.  

 

 

acutally its been rereleased THREE times...i for some stupid reason have all 4 versions of it, and your right its one of the ugliest things ever!

seriously ~ a completely unredeamable figure ~ i got fooled by the car mode into buying one in 'The Dark Days of Armada' and it is got to be one of the worst Transformers ever, like late G1 bad... and the minicon, oy...

 

What?!!? Which one did I miss? Hasbro released him 4x times?   If you're going to reuse a mold, pick something decent like Armada Wheeljack ore something. Yeesh.

 

There was the original Armada Sideswipe, Universe Treadshot, Universe Oilslick ( came in the K-Mart 2-pack ), and Cybertron Runamuck.

this figure is truly brutal.

He should be placed into the beast wars line to justify the monkey mode.

 

Yeah - I got three of the four too in large buys i made (wanted Universe UM and Crystal widow, and got those two as well). I started tossing them in with other trades i made with people as freebies. only way I could get rid of them.

Especially Treadshot - that fuschia is just horrid. I liked the color on oilslick though.

 

I agree, but it's too bad because I really like his car mode and the little flip out trick with his Mini-con. Ultra Magnus is pretty cool (after the arm fix of course).

 

I never bought the mold. I knew better. Maybe Hasbro has released it so many times because they want to get as much use out of it as possible before destroying the mold plates.....or they just like playing a joke on the fandom.

 

I got Cybertron Runamuck, knowing exactly what I was getting into.

He is easily one of the ugliest transformers I've ever seen. Because of that fact, he's got some kind of charm that I just can't hate him, though. He makes me laugh.

 

phew, i wouldn't say much better, of the three i only found Jetfire to be marginally acceptable, and even he's hamstrung by a lack of fundamental articulation... and the combined mode is just, just, yikes. let's just say i put it together one time only. (i really like how overload doesn't really combine, he just kind of hangs there...)

 

Bad thing is, I really want Oil Slick, didn't want Crystal Widow so that's why I never picked it up. If anyones got a loose Oil SLick, let me know.

 

The wonderful thing about the mold is not only does the robot look horrible (complete with hidious head sculpt), but the articulation is bad for even Armada. Those arms...what on earth are thoes arms?

 

QFT. I sold Arsewipe a longtime ago, but I still have Wheelie.

They're bloody silly, that's what they are.

 

I got stuck with the Treadshot version, when I got U Ultra Magnus.

I've been trying to find uses for his parts. So far his head has gone on my Alt Archer, and his wheels are getting used on a Bendy Prime mod I have planned. I just need to make new hubcaps.

 

once I realized that the car was basically a skyline, I requested cyb. runamuck for christmas. got it from my g/f, and was like yeah, a pretty nice car. with her whole family sitting around, opening presents, I transformed it. it was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud. I showed him to my girlfriend, and she was like "I like it." I nodded and transformed him into car mode, which he shall stay in for the rest of his life.

 

Yeah the mold is pretty bad but still way better then those piles of crap Armada Hot Shot and Sideways. As if robot modes weren't bad enough, they had shit for alt modes too. At least the Sideswipe as an almost forgiveable car mode.
