Not really "towers" but even then they don't seem to be going for show scale.

This is obviously going to be replied to with, "First time here?" etc. But as a dyed-in-the-wool Armada HATER, I am genuinely surprised at the hyberbolic vitriol this figure is receiving from some. Listen, Armada sucked rotten knobs from day one, and especially Hot Shot's toy was the most garbage chunk of plastic they'd ever created, to the point where the creator made a well-known apology for its lack of quality.

Legacy Hot Shot seems like a fun toy to me, and I simply CANNOT understate what a huge compliment that is coming from me. I bought one, and I can't believe people are actually saying, "The original was better." Like... SERIOUSLY? The one where the head, shoulders and arms were all one solid piece? SERIOUSLY?

I'm still undecided on whether or not to get Hot Shot, but I do like what I'm seeing.
8 wouldn't bug me that much if at all, but 9 and 10 would, especially 10.

Looks like it might just suck less than most other Armada-based Hot Shot toys. Not sure if that's enough for me to bother.

Last time we saw him, he was permanently flat-on-his-ass drunk.

Hot Shot doesn't like being seen with him anymore.

(I'm referring to the fact that Universe Jolt was physically unable to stand. Not only did the toy lack heel spurs, the backs of his feet were round, so he just rolled onto his ass.)

I'm gonna be the positive guy
    1. His head is the best a Hot Shot has ever had
    2. Functioning arms!!!!! We haven't had those since... Cybertron?! And that toy was designed as a different character!
    3. He's got functional articulation all around (this coming from the guy who likes Legacy Pointblank)
    4. His cannon thing doesn't take up 90% of the budget!
    5. He's got a cute car mode!
    6. I just like him okay

Its disheartening to see toy collectors, who buy toys, disparage armada/micron legend hot shot for being a toy. it is entertaining as a toy, not as an articulated "collectible". It is not for you. It never was.

Judging something that is ostensibly a toy intended for children by the standard of "uhhh does this figure have ankle tilts?" Is just wrong. It was never designed with posing in mind. The legacy toy is not an "upgrade" because it's not remotely doing the same thing.

id say legacy is a downgrade by virtue of failing how the original toy looks, whilst having some of the funkiest looking alt modes because they were reinventing the wheel.

At least he has shoulders???? That’s the only real win I guess???

its not a case of "each figure has X budget, so pointblank is bad because they had to include a targetmaster too."

each wave has X budget, and its spread between 4 figures. if one of the figures in pointblank's wave was a straight reissue, there would have been enough budget to make pointblank a better toy.

same goes for hot shot. they could have included a jolt, but that would have exceeded the whole wave's budget.

honestly I'm not sure the original Armada figure was incredibly entertaining as a toy either

I dunno man, I transformed that guy so many times my (ex) wife thought I was nuts fiddling with it so much.

It was a good distraction figure for sure.

all I know is, of the Armada toys I remember having as a kid, of which I'm fairly certain he was one, he doesn't show up among my fonder memories of playing with them

I think I pinpointed what bothers me so much with that vehicle mode:

The tires are way too small in diameter! Thus, the vehicle mode looks very oddly proportioned

Correct. Hasbro designed him as a new Hot Shot. I think it was WE’VE that changed the cartoon to be its own thing. He was always intended to be Hot Shot, though.

Something just looks incredibly cheap about this. IMO.

Looks pretty accurate to the character though, cheap or not.
