So I figured a new thread for the inevitable third installment in the Rocksteady Arkham game series. Seeing how the Arkham City events left many possibilities open, what can we accurately expect for the next game? How could it go down? Where could it take place? Some plot points: -Scarecrow obviously has some plans -Harley still has a grudge against Batman -Batman obviously feels guilt -Ras al Ghul's body disappearing -Several things in the Harley Quinn's Revenge DLC points to Joker returning -The Abromovich twins talk about reuniting What do you think we could see in the next game?
Unless things have changed the last I heard the next game will be a prequel or something and would have JLA members.
I was hoping we would get a Gotham City game, in which an earthquake devastates Gotham City releasing everyone from Arkham City to cause chaos, but looks like that won't happen.
The silver age prequel junk would be very disappointing. They had teased some nifty things in arkham city. Azreal, hush, scarecrow, etc :/
I think Azrael at least is completely off the table, since that character got erased from continuity since the last game was produced. We may see another Azrael again someday, but that Michael version is probably gone forever. When Arkham City was made, they were in the middle of trying to give Azrael a major push and his own series in the comics. But they gave up and he no longer exists, so there's no reason to put him in a sequel game. And I don't think they teased Scarecrow in City. They just gave him a nod, as they did Croc and the other non-appearing villains. Also, keep in mind, when they say "Silver Age," I doubt they mean Silver Age in tone. They just mean early appearances of the other DC characters. It will show Batman's first meeting with Superman, the formation of the Justice League, etc. But it will still look and feel like the same universe we have in Asylum and City.
I would like to see a good Hush storybit. and a Man-Bat fight - gliding through the air and duking it out etc... Cliched as it is though, A good knock down drag it out fight with Superman... When those are done right, they're done hella right.
It's straight up stupid. I prefer them to continue the story, not go on a tangent with the Justice League bullshit.
Playable Bruce Wayne is a must, too. I consider DK Returns to be more of a Batman story than Beyond ever was.
I'm fine with that story being over. Joker is dead, Talia is dead, Strange and Ra's are dead. Done. Unless they found a way to bring Talia back to life, I don't really want any further continuing stories in that continuity. I'm fine with them fleshing out the past, though. They also aren't bringing back the same writer of Asylum or City, so that's another reason I wouldn't want a continuation.
