So the Autobot Ark is something I've been wanting to model for a long time. I've been working on it off and one since May, I think.
I used elements from the G1 animation model, and the Beast Wars 3d model.
It's one of those things that I'm not really sure if I'm done with it yet, but I certainly am liking it.

The back drop I used that from the wallpaper from the WFC game. I just wanted to throw the Ark in a scene. I'll do my own star field later on.

I'll be putting out a rotation of the ship shortly as well.

I just wanted to show this off real quick.

A nice shot of the Ark from all angles. =D

Outstanding model of something that rarely ever gets touched on...think the only other Ark model I can remember seeing is Weewoo's, going back yeeeeears (Venks or anyone else, please correct me if my memory's at fault)! :thumb

(Heh, it's only just occurred to me how much the front of the ship says 'USS Defiant'...:D )

Is that the Ark, or the Defiant? Looks like me and Sledge are on the same page :p  Good job!

I'm glad everyone likes the Ark. I had a lot of fun with this, so thank you.
To answer some of your comments about it looking like the Defiant; I based part of my Ark from the Beast Wars model, however I learned (back when I was gathering reference images) that the actual Beast Wars Ark was partially modeled after the Defiant, hence the Defiant-like look to the ship.

Have you thought about submitting this to ShapeWays? I'd love to add a real Ark to my TF collection.

To be honest, I'm not 100% sure what it is.
My guess is they model parts in 3d and use a 3d printer to make them.
I guess for 3rd party use?
If that's the case, I don't think my Ark would be a good candidate, bc the model is made up of separate objects. For a 3d printer to work they might require the model to be one object.

Hey, thanks a lot. I was surprise to see this taken out of moth balls.
