Hah! That was back in the DAY for sure! Good times man! One of these days I'll be able to make it to one of the meet-ups. Sweet I'm gonna have to swing by WM after I get home.
I'm actually a little disappointed in the wave 5 batch of SS deluxe figs. Loose joints and many parts popping off and just not fitting well in vehicle mode. I cant get WWII Bee's roof to close completely or the cannon to point straight, The sides of Sideswipes chest parts ball joints pop off constantly and having a hell of a time getting Barricades rear end parts to fit properly.
Any word on the 2 new minibot reissues? I checked a few walmarts today but nada. The Walmart on happy valley has a bunch of siege deluxes and one each of prime and megs, if anyone is looking.
OK what the fuck is going on at Walmart today? Why is the tf aisle empty and why is there a long line of people with tf toys. Update. Ah BB is coming to the store. Wow, I'm really out of the loop. They seriously need to do this once every 3 months to clear out old stock lol
It was just a promotion. They did the same thing for tlk with hotrod. Kids get to go up and shake a dudes hand in a costume. Wohoo! xD actually nobody hardly showed up at the tlk one. I was surprised to find it was a good turnout for BB. Also surprised I didn't hear nada on here. I'm assuming he's gotta be hitting up other states.
I checked a few Walmarts and Targets this morning, didn't find jack shit. Heres some info on the Bumblebee promotion. 'Bumblebee' to visit 28 Walmart stores around the Valley
Your results are not unique re: WWII BB. I spent more than a little time on Saturday trying to figure out if that roof issue was just me or if others were experiencing the same thing- transforming the figure back and forth, trying different fit options. Otherwise a decent figure, but that roof issue is really annoying. I think the other issue you described (parts popping off easily, etc.) is just Hasbro these days... full stop. I've found each wave has issues and although it depends on the figure as to severity, this latest wave isn't unique in any way.
Yeah, I just had a little higher hopes with the SS figures and the price point. However, I've found the Siege figures to be outstanding on the QC side of things as well as overall quality!
February/early March is typically a dead zone. A few things are showing up (SS Jetfire/Megatron, etc.), but otherwise expect empty shelves until the early Spring resets kick in.
Saw a WWII BB and a Barricade at the Target on Southern & Longmore today. Anyone in the Phoenix area collecting and interested in trading Botbots? If so, PM me with a list of what dups you have and I'll do the same in response.
