I was inspired by another thread to ask the question..."are you tired of transformer alt modes being planes?" I like planes. What kind of a kid, or after 30 years, man doesn't. I love the seekers. I have every SS, TC, SW that i can find. I also really dig Tread Bolt and Silverbolt and Darkwind. But having Overcast and Dreadwing or whatever his name is from the last movie, along with TRU exclusives Wingblade and Jetstorm maybe pushing it. Now we have Stratosphere and Breakaway. Is it all too much IMO. I beleive they ran out of different concepts to transform them so we ended up with really bad feet on Stratosphere. I'm glad we are getting a toaster, because it's different. Why can't we get more boats or ships? What's your take?

Kids love planes. I don't see a problem with them, seeing as how cars are (and always will be) totally outnumbering the aircraft anyway.

I agree with the idea that we need more boatformers. However, I'm not really bored with the plane/jet transformers yet. I think that your point can probably apply to tanks too. It would definately be nice to see more variety in the franchise.

I'd love to see more sea craft, personally. The only recent ones were a Botcon redeco and ROTF Depthcharge, who's utterly tiny, despite being pretty cool otherwise.

But on the other hand, no, I'm not all that tired of planes. I'm tired of poorly designed plane transformers, yes, but not planes-formers in general. Breakaway is just too unique looking to toss him aside just for being a jet. :D

My parents always choose to buy robot planes for me in the 80s. (g1 darkwing, Gobot: waterwalk)

planes are also a very practical form of alt mode for anyone who watched robotech macross.

Could there be more variety in the planes? Yes.

At least I have the new ROTF ransack. Biplanes are Fresh. We should have more old warplanes from ww1 and 2.
    Not just f-15s, F-22s, A-10s, and SR-71s

out of service air craft in fantasy paint schemes.

I'd like to see more done along the lines of ROTF Ransack. Creative, fun, and different.

I'm not tired of plane transformers at all. As mentioned above, I'm tired of ill-conceived (at least for my tastes) attempts at them. My recent faves:

    Classic Starscream and his iterations
    TFTM Starscream
    ROTF Starscream

Cybertron Jetfire is pretty good and ROTF Ransack looks to be slick.

Didn't like any other jets from the first movie, nor cyb. TC, the animated seekers, or the ROTF jets i haven't mentioned. U. Silverbolt is a good homage, but not a great jetformer. Classics Jetfire is a little better, but still very unstreamlined.

The MP seekers are great jets and pretty good robots - I preferred the pre-revision mold personally though and it still colors my opinion of them.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the leader ROTF Starscream figure. I was initially very put off by his design, but I've come to REALLY like it (unlike most of the rest of the movie stuff).

I love plane alt modes. Stratosphere wouldn't be so bad if they painted the legs silver like the Takara Heinke release. I do agree they should be more creative though. I love Ransack. It's a simple idea with lots of thought put into it.

just picked up stratosphere today and i have to say this figure is pretty bad ass..the mini prime that comes with him is tiny which makes him a super gigantic autobot ..in fact he is probably as big or if not bigger than devastator.scale wise..sure do hope they show him transform in the movie...he needs those big feet to support that weight..keep the planes.trains, and ships coming..had my fill of cars for a while...

Sick of A-10s for sure. But even more sick of GIANT spring-loaded-geared-missile gimmicks that makes kibble twice as big as it needs to be. There should be a rule---"no gimmicks on jet-formers"----it just adds so much kibble in alt mode, when they usually already have much more than average.

no, planes are needed for both sides now (the Autobots need more jets to counter the Seekers, and the Decepticons need more jets in general for troop building. I like to just combine the lines anyways) I think we also need more planes that are turboprop, like Ransack, maybe more biplanes or some of the WW 2 Fighters and Bomber types

I'd like more variety (the bi-planes, WWII aircraft), but moreso for accuracy; kinda let down by Leader Jetfire's kibble. Hope Leader SS turns out better!

depends. If it looks awesome in robot mode, like movie jetstorm does, then keep making more GOOD ones. If it sucks, like the infamous beast machines jetstorm, then DON'T make that a toy. I would like to see more boats and ships, though...

    a movie tidal wave, perhaps...

God, no, I love planes. And it's wonderful the aircraft molds we're getting in ROTF.

    Voy. Starscream
Breakaway (waiting for a better color scheme, though)
    Ransack (a biplane! He's awesome)
    Leader Starscream supposedly great)
Skystalker (based on a drone, another first)
    The various Jetfire toys
    etc.
