Spoilers for the ending of Lost Light #1 follow. So as of the end of LL #1, we now have the crew left in the Functionalist universe, where alt-mode is incredibly importantly. Obviously, I think the very big reveal that will come from this arc is we'll discover what Rung's alt mode is, especially considering his current position in the universe. But something else came to mind, Megatron's. We've never seen his. Now I know the series hasn't shown everyone's alt mode often, it's not like they're major plot elements for everyone. And like I said, I think Rung is going to be the really big player here. But could it be possible we'll see Megatron's finally, and if so, will it be relevant to the plot you think, or will it be nothing special and just be a tank?
Hopefully, and hopefully in time so that MMC can revise their horrible not-IDW Megatron's alt mode. It's just a mess, like a fanmode and not a true alt-mode (it's like when we changed Mindwipe to be a jet in fanmode)
I can't remember if it was Milne or Roberts that brought it up, but I remember something along the lines of Megatron's alt mode was drawn up with the original concept art, and it's intentional that we haven't seen it yet. Kinda hoping functionist universe is our excuse to finally see it.
It's an interesting prospect now that I've thought about it. He looks vaguely like he should transform into a tank of some stripe, but I'm wondering if Prime and company wouldn't have forced something less aggressive upon him.
I'm pretty sure he said that there was no particular reason that it hadn't been shown besides it not being used in the comics yet and its design is in the sketchbook he sold at some conventions.
He still has the barrel of a tank's cannon over his right shoulder, doesn't he? Or am I looking at it wrong?
As someone has mentioned one of the sketches I did when designing Megatron for MTMTE is in one of my sketchbooks. It's not a polished drawing but maybe i will clean it up and post it for those who are interested.
