Are there any characters you'd be happy with a non-transforming MP scale action figure of?

That Nightbird was a horrible figure. The other lost a lot of support when they hired a known scammer of the Transformers community to paint their figures along with having hostile promoters on the message board.

I think there's been a pretty close A3. He might be a wee bit short, though. Feller on the left, obviously.

I’d like an accurate Megatron. And if you come at me about that spindly twig-legged, grin-faced mp36? Yeah, no.

Dinobots (have FT's but honestly, I never take them out of Alt)

And lately, anything from FT's because the transformation is so damn difficult. I remember people saying Bad Cube was a mess. Maybe it was but it always went together...it was just complex. FT's seems to be complex and NOT want to go together anyways.

I'm embarrassed to say that I've made no attempts with Koot or Apache. I should do that this upcoming year... :p

    Cheat answer but IDW Krok

sincere answer is G1 megatron, shockwave, and bludgeon. I don't like that megs and shockwave turn into guns for other people to use, and due to mass shifting not being real their transformed form can't interact meaningfully with the other MP scale toys. I like MP-36 but I've transformed him once and probably won't ever again, so a good looking super articulated G1 megatron would be very welcome.

Bludgeon was a huge character in the marvel comics, but there's not been a good toy of his pretender shell, which he basically never left in the comics. There was that convention exclusive repainted GI Joe figure, but that looked bad and seemed to have no articulation at all.

Haha. The irony is that 30+ years later, NOW we want MP Action Masters. It's cool and all. Just funny.

If it is single bot mode, like a femmebot/con, it will need proper articulation (AT LEAST as good as FT Spoiler) and have some structural die cast or at least on feet / legs for stability. Also, properly tolerances. Also, has to look pristine, well painted to go well with my MP figures (at least as good as FT Spoiler)

    Ab Crunch
    Double Jointed Elbows
Individual fingers if possible, otherwise thumb, then the rest.
hip to be friction joint on side, and small spaced ratchets on front / back
    Thigh Swivel
    Ankle Rocker,
    Head Tilt down and up

So if in doubt, pick up FT Spoiler for it's bot mode, the GOLD standard for similar sized figure, and take all it's benefits, and make the none-transforming figure, and forget about transformation.

I think any non-transforming figure should at least be as poseable as your standard Figma, or maybe a MG Gundam model (given certain limitations on mecha anatomy). I wouldn't buy them, but they should be at least nice for those that want them.

I didn't even try on the FT's movie bots. I opened them and put them right on the shelf. For all I know Kup could have missing parts inside....or a nasty burr in his rotator.

I tackled Rouge just to see if she was really as bad as some people said she was. She wasn't to me, but I can definitely see how some people wouldn't like threading half an MP scale bot laden with diecast through a tiny hole held up by a weensy bolt. Given that I'll probably never TF her in the next 3 years, she might as well be a statute especially because she has no GD waist swivel which is just all kinds of weird. Of all the things that can't pull off the ab crunch, it's the girl figure. Girl figures ALWAYS get ab crunches.

I'd never buy an MP scale non-transformable TF because I have a wholly irrational need for my Transformers to have the capacity to Transform. However as time passes and nicer non-TFing figures come out (especially those Furai models) I can't say they at least don't look amazing. I can definitely see the appeal.

Honestly, I never transform my figures. The best day for me is when you open the box and it's in bot mode. That said, I WANT them to be able to transform...I just don't do it.

I know that sounds weird but I don't think I'd like them as much if they couldn't. It'd be like owning that Ferrari from Ferris Buellers day off. The dad doesn't drive it "He just wipes it with a diaper" but it CAN drive. He just chooses not to. It would have less personal value if it couldn't.

    Beast.

I realise I’m in an extreme minority on that, but he certainly isn’t possible as an actual combiner, so it’s the only way you could really make it, and have it ‘correct’.

Took a new step by simply placing unopened boxes on the shelf, in this case until MMC gets their Ocular asses in gear on the Autobot cassettes. Literal placeholders. And tbh, the boxes are probably more enjoyable than their contents anyway. :)
