Hey not sure if anyone still plays these games, I do, but does anyone know if the WFC and FOC online multiplayer servers are still up and running? I’ve been trying to play these games recently and both games say servers are down and the little spindle just keeps spinning and spinning. I actually still play both of these games on the PS3 because it’s all I have left to play these games on. They’re my TF favorite games and I play them periodically every now and then. I actually was just playing these games a few weeks ago with no problem then suddenly this past week I have not been able to get online. Only the story mode is available. No multiplayer, no escalation, no co-op, no anything. Just curious to know if anyone who still plays these games are experiencing the same problem. Wondering maybe if the pandemic has affected old games like this because maybe nobody is around to maintain them? Anyone know anything about it?
I play this game on my laptop and I have the same problem but I do know that Activision lost the license to the games and since it is no longer able to download, there has been no new players and the multiplayer servers have been shut down. But if they ever remake the game, multiplayer might come back.
Yeah they are shutdown. I don't think it's because of the virus but because it's just been atleast 12-10 years for how long they've been up, along with activision terminating hasbro's contract three years ago.
Minor correction I know, but as Hasbro is the one licensing out their brand, Hasbro would've been the one to terminate the contract, not Activision. However, there was no termination at all, the license expired and neither company had interest in renewing it.
I know their contract had ended a few years ago but I was still playing escalation and multiplayer as of month ago. I just find it odd that they decided to take it down just now. I was just playing it! I know that no one maintains the games anymore per-say with updates and DLCs but I figured that the online portion of the games would remain up. I figured it was just something that stays up forever. I officially have no more Transformer games to play online besides on my phone and I want to play Transformers again on my big screen TV. I want my Transformer games back! Who at Hasbro is responsible for this?
Worst move ever for the brand on both their parts. They just gutted all the good games the franchise had left. I'm saddened and disappointed.
If there was a way for us to donate money for someone to make a "custom server" that benefits all players, I'd gladly donate any money to see multiplayer and escalation see the light of day again. I don't have a gaming console anymore but I really want to buy a ps3 again and finally get a chance to play as blastoff in FOC
Maybe we can make a kickstarter for a remake and gamemodes that weren't there before like a race to the finish mode or a more difficult but almost different version of escalation mode
