Didnt S7 made a carbon dating test with the allspark and megatron ?? That means that transformers are made of carbon and not metal. this could aslo explain why the transformers are organic robots. The allspark also created cybertron, if the allspark is comprised of carbon i guess cybertron and all transformers are as well.
They're probably made of some kind of alien, riduculously-strong metal composite, that's mostly made of carbon. Carbon composites can be some of the strongest (if not the strongest) metal composites in the known universe. That'd explain how they'd be able to survive the extreme colds and heats of space.
Even IF they were made of carbon, radiocarbon dating wouldn't tell you the the time an event happened, it would only tell you when the organism died. For example, say you somehow managed to find a wooden house that was burned down in 1785. Radiocarbon dating wouldn't tell you what year the cabin burned down, it would tell you what year the tree (whose wood was used to build the cabin) was cut down (killed). This was just an error on behalf of whoever wrote that line in the film.
Sector 7 discovered the Allspark in the Colorado River - it was bound to be clogged with old sea life and old organic debris. They could probably get some idea by testing a whole bunch of samples from that - maybe take some of the oldest debris or the innermost layer as representative of when it crash-landed. Or maybe even some of the surrounding sediment layer if it was buried.
7 years old debate!?? Bring it!! Haha Optimus in AOE clearly states they are made of BASE METALS ....emphasis on the METALS ....PLURAL!! Transformers have many metals as their base structure NOT JUST TRANSFORMIUM....plus other compounds could also be incorporated, much like us biological beings incorporated metals into our survival and structures
Very true. I am sure there are at least some non-metallic elements in a Cybertronian body. Heck, Energon itself might be organic.
