Just like the topic says, are they worth getting? I'm thinking about picking up the Shadow Commander.

Speaking of which, is there any chance of finding it at SDCC?

I love my City Commander UM armor. Never regretted buying it, and I think it's well worth the cash.

You got to at least get one of them. Each of them has something unique to them.

Obviously CC = Ultra Magnus (the one who started it all)
Shadow Commander comes with 2 faces and a pink sword
Powered Convoy comes with unique shoulder missiles and a peanut butter & jelly briefcase

Totally love my City Commader set. It's the Ultra Magnus Hasbro should have made in the first place.

They are good to have but more worth what the release cost of them was.

The BFG's are totally unuseable however.

They stand about the height of an animated leader class with less bulk.

If you want to start out tiny, go with Shadow Commander, he has the best over all features, and BBTS is still selling him at release cost.

Don't expect a masterpiece but it is probably in line with one of the better constructed leader figures from animated. UM and SC sit on my masterpiece shelf. :)

Hope that gives you a little insight. Oh... and the comics rock.

Thought the CC armor looked great and bought one upon its release, mostly due to how excited everyone seemed to be about it. I was disappointed when I got it and sold it a few weeks later when the prices started going up.

I guess I'm spoiled with how well-engineered Hasbro products have become in recent years, especially regarding the integration of parts during transformation. Clip-on armor pieces that have to be assembled into an alt mode feel characteristic of the worst parts of G1, ala seeker fists/wings, Omega Supreme, and Jetfire parts. Assembling CC for the first time, I was immediately struck by how much I didn't like that style anymore. On top of that, I knew I'd never be able to look at CC and not think about it being an unofficial product, which (in my mind) detracts from the authenticity of my collection.

I do think CC looks pretty cool, and it's easily the highest-quality bootleg product we've ever seen, but it doesn't have a place in my collection.

Picked up all 3. Very happy with them. Don't care for the BFG's but Shadow's sword is awesome.

Gotta agree with ams. Great engineering and good prices for a non-Hasbro product. Average engineering and ludricrous prices compared to Hasbro. If you're still building your collection don't bother with them as you can get say Classics Inferno, Cyclonus, Starscream, Hound, Prime, Jetfire for the price of the Nemesis Armor alone and it's the cheapest.

I have City Commander & Shadow Commander and I'm very happy with both. I did not pick up the last one though. Not sure if I'll buy the forthcoming "Henkeized" Powered Convoy armor though.

City Commander looks good in robot mode (too bad there's no shoulder missiles included though) and I wish they'd do an upscaled version that's adapted to fit MP Magnus.

Trailer mode is decidely unimpressive though, and the BFG is completely redundant.

IMO City Commander is an essential upgrade for the otherwise boring Classics Ultra Magnus and the others have nowhere near the same appeal for me.

The City Commander set is great but not perfect. I agree that it could have came with shoulder missiles and a more accurate gun. The BFG seems like a waste. But I'm still happy with my City and Shadow Commander.

I have Shadow Commander and he's awesome. To be honest, I would much rather have City Commander, so I can have an Ultra Magnus..Shadow Commander is a black repaint of course, but it's not really an existing character. Still, it's the only one you can get at a relatively normal price (and I don't have an Ultra Magnus figure anyway).

I think looks good as a trailer and as a robot, the only thing I dislike is that a big part of the trailer transforms into a rocket launcher, which is nothing more than a big block of plastic you will lay aside. Minor detail though, it's awesome.

City Commander is the gateway drug that got me into Classics/Universe/Henkei.

Yes, if you pay $75 for it like I did when it first came out.
No if you pay the $200 + Ebay prices it is now at.

I think it looks great but is not worth the price.
