Personally, it is too soon to say. But based on the details at hand... It sounds very suspicious.

Thanks for the responses. I'm concerned because I bought the Takara Skullcruncher listed above for $27. I was so excited for the price that I jumped on it without thinking. I started getting suspicious afterwards.

I'm hoping that these are just figures that workers took out of the factory. Then again, I believe the official figures are made in Vietnam not China.

It seems like it's way too early for KOs of these figures to start showing up. But, you never know in this hobby these days.

If this is a concern, here is what I will do when voted for President of Cybertron.

First... We will go back in time and build a wall. Not just any wall, but a GREAT wall. And we will not pay a single dime because the Chinese will build it themselves.

Second... We'll build a space bridge that connects Canada to Mexico. This is because we are sure that Mexico is not licensing this franchise, and we cannot take chances with those pesky Canadians.

Third... We will take on Tacky Takara and ask them to stop making female Transformers. I like women, and I think they are great. But I do not think they should be used in this franchise.

Fourth... We will ban all Go-Bots from entering this franchise. This is because we have to presume that their presence will bring down the greatness this franchise has to offer.

And finally... To save money, we will hire the KO makers to make our toys. Plus, we will have them work here so the Chinese do not get any of our business.

Because when I am President, I will make Cybertron great again!

I think they're more likely to be "grey market" likely-stolen-straight-from-the-factory stock of the genuine figures rather than actual knock offs.

It's not an uncommon phenomenon with Generations figures. There's an eBayer called Lena-something-or-other that's well known for dealing in that kind of thing.

Also, if you look at the seller from the link most of there listings are for figures with no boxes. Simply toys from the factory which have found the way through the backdoor as you say?
Another worry (if stolen ones isn't in the first place!) is that there could be rejects, tossed in some box and sold to people for cheap prices locally.

They are just toys without boxes, I buy loose toys from various sellers on ebay all the time.

There are no KO's of the current Titans line.

If there are then you are the first person to discover them, and they are the highest quality KO's this side of cut-me-own-throat-Takasa-Tony's-House-of-Shiny-Happy-KO-Toys....

If you look at the pattern of CW KO's (there were very few, and in weird colors and sizes) then expect to see some Legends scale ones in a year or two, or any of the small Titan vehicles and MAYBE a couple of popular deluxes down the line, in stupid colors, in different novelty sizes, and probably in shit quality.

For that price unlikely to be knockoffs.

    Update:

The figure I ordered is a 100% authentic Takara Tomy Legends Skullcruncher. The figure is 100% complete. It was loose w/no box or instructions.

The quality is top notch. No defects whatsoever and in fact, the hip joints are ALOT tighter than my Hasbro version of the figure. I will also say that I like the Headmaster Skullcruncher robot mode face ALOT better than the Hasbro version as well.

GREAT deal at only $27 shipped from China. It was a great way for someone like me who is on a budget to get this figure for over $20 cheaper than the online retailers when you factor in $7 to $10 shipping costs on a $40 figure from a BBTS or Tfsource.

I REALLY hope that I get the opportunity to buy Legends Blurr, Scourge, Chromedome, and Wolfwire this way too.

Sorry about the crappy cellphone pics:

Thanks for taking the step. The prudent thing to do at this point is to identify a trustworthy seller so that we don't get scammed when go looking for these guys.

Mind sharing who you bought yours from?

You're very welcome. All we need is one person to take the leap of faith and share their experiences with their fellow boardmembers.
The link to the seller that I purchased from is below. They have 100% feedback for a reason. They're legit:

I thought I bought from your guy and I accidentally bought from a different seller. Hopefully it doesn't turn out to be a scam.
