I was so hopeful when alternators first came out... And with all of these third party companies, when are we going to get someone scaling up a hound or a beachcomber for my Joe's? These two would make perfect VAMP and AWE. Stinger/Swindle would be an easy repaint.

Your topic made me wonder why Oritoys made a vehicle/mecha dedicated sub-line for Acid Rain which had (and used) human figures smaller than 1:18. The thought of ride-able mechs for 1:18 figures is always an awesome thing. Perhaps it was to cut costs?

 

the oversized MP-ko offerings are somewhat around 1/24, so that's Alternator size (albeit not 1/18)

 

Have you seen Roadbots? They are um, not the best figures but they're very Alternators like, have full cockpits, very nice alt modes and 'acceptable' robot modes, for the most part.
