I LOVE the body designs for the three Arcee bots....but they're faces are so damn ugly. To be honest, I liked the way Arcee looked in Reign of Starscream better. If Arcee and Flareup aren't dead, then hopefully they'll combine with Chromia in TF3 because their combined mode looks so damn awesome.
Fake, fake, fake. That image is of 'Flareup' or 'Chromia' from the prequel comic, recolored to appear as though its combined. Check it.
It doesn't look like any of them though, it doesn't have the additional wheel on the foot/arm/or head. I think the comic may have made a coloring error. In any case, I myself can't wait to see the combined toy though. And while I'm here, I'll add that I feel it's a shame Bay made Arcee into three robots rather than a multi-component robot, because that would have set up characters like Ultra Magnus (truck and car carrier) or Omega Supreme (rocket, base) well, whose alternate modes are not a single form. Orci said on Don Murphy's forum that they wrote a lot of stuff exploring Arcee and her nature as someone who separated into three objects when transforming, but Bay just padded the numbers to look more impressive and cut out most of her dialogue because of his sexist opinion of the character (he told MTV it was "dumb" robots can be feminine as well as masculine).
I'd chalk it up to artist interpretation, given IDW likely was working off of preliminary work before the final renderings were created. And, yes, the missing wheel does question it being the Chromia component, sure, but then dead-on its not like you can notice the wheel behind the head on the toy either. Regardless, something to note is the fact that should that somehow be a miscolored combined form, where are the other five wheels in that case? Not to mention that the image clearly shows the one bike becoming the robot. But I certainly agree on the toy item. Can't wait for all three bikes to be out and available locally so I can nab me some combined Arcee. Word. But, on the other hand, while any elaboration was nixed, its not like it was ever made definite its three separate characters. In fact, the only two times the trio are referred to in name is by Lennox, once to initiate the Sideways pursuit, the other when preparing positions in the desert as the final battle was drawing near. Both times, simply "Arcee". Now, given we know there was intent for Arcee to be a combiner who's consciousness was split and controlled three forms at one time, and that there will still be an 'unofficial' offical combiner state for the three Deluxe cycles, all added to the fact the movie calls the trio by one name twice, I see it as three personas of the same individual. Though we weren't treated to the actual full form of Arcee onscreen, it is something real. It's not fanfiction in any way at all. The way I see it, all that's been done is the concept of a Duocon/Triobot, as it were, has been perfected. For every time I ever suggested my want of a Duobot or Duocon, someone had to come along and question what would happen if one of the two components were destroyed in battle. While I always figured you could question the same to a single alt form robot getting blasted to oblivion in battle, this trio of Arcee in RotF negates the issue. Each component can utilize an individual robot mode. She's like a Triplechanger, thrice over. As mentioned by others, should a component be destroyed, a robotic form is still always an option, and the consciousness lives on until the missing piece can be fixed or replaced. No one should give a flying fark what Mr. Michael Bay thinks is 'dumb'. I mean, have ya seen his movies?
Yea ROTF has been taken out of my theaters too in favor of GI Joe and G Force :/ My parents have bills too but they waste money buying tea and fancy furniture and not by giving it to me to buy TFs and video games. But yea, I still believe that the bike bots are all separate beings and at least Chromia is alive.
I think the designs are great. In all reality, the way the Arcee sisters and even Sideswipe get around is much more efficient and practical than taking on a humanoid form and using legs. Personally, I think the designs are a win. Way to think out of the box.
I don't think Bay liked the Tri-Cees thing !! Remember what he said about hating her design?? I think now this is what he meant, the Tri-Cees. He killed 2, but Arcee still survived as a 1 bikebot. I do agree he will bring her back for TFs 3(I think he still trying to find her a potential but not as a conscious spread on 3 bodies). I hope she gets a decent body( feminine, good looking, and Biped: whether on feet or on Wheels, as with Sideswipe ) and 2 bikes serving as drones. You know : Having Bay killed the other 2 we can still hope for the REAL Chromia and the REAL Flareup in the future

Well technically they where never said to be dead, they probably where temporarily disabled. (at least that's what I hope since I love arcee)
No technical bit about it. A full on death isn't shown for any of the bikes, much like every time they're referred to by Lennox its the single name of 'Arcee' for the lot of them.
EXACTLY !! People had ignore this little detail since the hive-separate mind discussion began!! Lenox refers to them as Arcee twins(funny he doesn't say triplets as it should), I seriously demand an answer : DOES ANY ONE IN DA MOVIE REFERS TO DA BIKES AS SEPARATE INDIVIDUALS BY NAME ??? does, in ending credits, the voice cast refer to them as Arcee, Chromia, Flareup or just Arcee(s) ???
Actually he only calls them Arcee, both for the Sideways pursuit and when setting up for the desert battle at the end. When he says 'Twins', he's referring to The Twins, Mudflap & Skids. That's why they immediately show the cycles hauling ass followed by the Twins bumbling in the alley which takes them out of the game.
OH!! not Arcee Twins, BUT Arcee, Twins !! Got it !! But still they are never refer to by different names as in the Toys !! Thanks !! Finally,a person with concrete answers !! Geshh !! about time !!
i kind of liked the Arcee design, it was different, still i liked the first movie toy's design more, but i hated the head. if only they kept the first design's body and the ROTF design's head, it would have been cool. but i'm probably only saying this because Arcee is one of my favorite characters. and the purple motorcycle sister's name, what is it? some call her Moonracer others are calling her Flareup. you'd think hasbro would have decited or reveled her name by now. ps. i hope its Moonracer.
The way I think about it, he was talking directly to Arcee who is the leader of the bunch (so says her bio that Ironhide made her leader of her own squad the other two sisters). He is talking to her to give the commands to give her teammates. Why would Bay hurt two of them and leave one fine if they are the same? If they do die will the blue one just be Arcee by herself?
In the toy bio, not the movie bio!! Maybe because he didn't like the idea of Arcee as one mind spread in 3 bodies !! Remember that interview he gave to MTV some months ago were he said he was going to kill her off because he didn't like how she looked and her attitude ?? Think !! His words :Attitude and design ?? I believe he referred to her been 1 mind in 3 bodies !! He didn't liked it and tried to treat them as 3 separate individuals, but he couldn't change it on time !! So he fix things in his way !! Kill 2 and you got 1 REAL Arcee standing !!
