I noticed a couple of days ago that the Military type Aquarion has been released. Pics: http://cms.or.tp/%7Egamu/goukin/gouki/akueri2/akueri2.html http://www.geocities.jp/hetare_d_max/gallery-DX_Aquarion_TsyosemeType.html Also to be released was a 2nd version of the Normal Aquarion, with improvements so that Solar Aquarion could stand on it's own and also the Mugen Punch accessory. Anybody know if it's out and where to get it? Online shops like HLJ and BBTS don't mention anything about a 2nd or refined version. Thx in advance!
You know, I'm really starting to hate you guys. You go out of your way to show me things I have never heard of and that kick all sorts of arse, and then you make me want them. My wife hates you too for making me buy stuff I had no intention of ever buying.
Oooowkay, this isn't going the way I intended. lol! Anybody know where to get the 2nd version of Aquarion (NOT the assault type), or how to recognize it from the box?
no man i am sorry but i dont think most of us have seen such a thing as that..........so.....we are all kind of lost for words. cant be much help other then that
Wow. Man. That is one beautiful mech. SHort of Evilbay, anyone know where to find that it and how much?
HLJ has it. Pricey though, at roughly $200. Make sure you save yourself the trouble and hunt for the ver 2.0, though, as the original release was pretty floppy and needed some serious joint tightening.
Pro's - excellent design, very detailed, HUGE weapons, it's almost a mecha "rubik's cube". Con's - the knee joints should have been reinforced more, the backpack makes posing without the stand almost impossible.
what's the quality like? Durable? I have the transforming Escaflowne. It's probably the most complicated figure I own. ALot of parts are really flimsy. Would this be better or worse? What I guess I am asking...can it be played ith? Or it really justa "transform & display" type figure?
I have the first release, and out of box, it's pretty floppy, so it's quite obviously a display-type thing. Play, short of transforming, would be pretty frustrating. I've since done work to tighten most of the joints, so it works a lot better now, but even then, if your play patterns consist of anything more than transforming and posing, it's probably not going to be to your liking. Heavy and cumbersome. It is pretty damned durable, though, definitely moreso than Yamato's Escaflowne figure.
I like the military type a lot better than the regular version. It just looks so much more mature and the more unified color scheme helps it a lot. I'd really like to get these things one day. Hopefully I can find a good deal at some point. All I know is that the first time I saw the standard version I flipped out. I thought it was one of the coolest toys I'd ever seen before.
Yup, your description for the first version is pretty spot-on. This mecha has been out for the last 2-3 weeks in my country and it seems that the floppy-ness gas been fixed...or so they say...I'm afriad that's all I can help ya with.
