Howdy, Action-figure.com seems to have information on the first deluxe assortment of movie toys. I'm not sure how credible this site is, but they seem to be rather legit on most of their news stories that I've seen. Anyhoo, it appears the first two deluxe figures are to be Optimus Prime and Starscream, both with movie accessories and deluxe packaging (whatever this means). To me, it seems odd to only release 2 figures in an assortment (especially when the toyline sounds to be rather expansive from all the store database info as of late), so maybe these are the two preview figures mentioned at Botcon? No release date info is given, but apparently the case ratio is 4 figures of each to a case. http://www.action-figure.com/index.php?name=News&file=article&sid=20413 Enjoy!
Well that's no good. I was pretty sure this was new, as I haven't seen any threads, but hey, good chance I'm wrong. Hope I'm not though! The chance to give a sliver of news is oh so rare these days...
Yeah. Those are the two preview figures available May 2nd. On June 2nd, the toys should be released everywhere.
http://www.transformertoys.co.uk/news_story_4133.html Looks like someone didn't feel like crediting his sources.
Optimus will be a deluxe? Man, I so see yet another repacked bendy prime........ in a windowless sealed box....... ...... and it'll come with sound that is triggered when you open the box, it'll say "taa-daa!"
Sounds interesting, but saying that they'll include movie accessories kind of has me thinking that these guys won't be using the movie designs for some reason...
I was just browsing action-figure.com and saw their story. Wasn't credited to another site, so I figured I'd post. I don't browse other TF sites, so I don't know who reports first, etc.
so do we know if these will be rereleased later in the main line? or is it like the star wars preview figures?
Difficult to have an opinion on these right now, sincerely hope they're not re-releases of some sort.
At the panel, the Hasbro guys made several allusions to the Star Wars toyline approach (preview figures, for example). I figure it won't be straight repaints, but eh. Full line will be out a couple months later anyway.
