Hiya, this is my first post so please be gentle lol I purchased an X-transbots Apollyon figure from eBay aaages ago and have recently found the hip ratchet on the right leg is fubar. Is there anyway I can fix it or maybe get a replacement? I would send it back but I'm way over the allotted time (My own fault really for not checking properly at the time - a long and ultimately pointless amount of explaining would be needed as to why but suffice to say I wasn't having a great time awhile ago and didn't check him over as well as I should've done) Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated on what to do I can post up some pics if that helps? Ouch, it looks like a good chunk of that 'gear' thing is missing. You can try this though I'm not sure if it'll help in your case. Basically, try to rotate the leg 180 ans spin it around so that you're using the other side of that 'gear', but you have to be very careful about it. Step 1: Lift the right hip skirts up so you have a good view of what you're doing. Move the right leg back 45 degrees and outward 45 degree like so: *this is so that the protruding parts of the hip ball joint doesn't collide with that box where the other ratchet part is. Step 2: Rotate the silver thigh part 180 degrees against the hip ball point (hold the ball joint still). Be careful that the two pointy silver thigh parts don't hit anything. It should look like this afterwards: Step 3: carefully maneuver/flip the leg around so that the feet is pointed forward again. Please be very careful when doing this so that the bulging parts of the hip ball joint and the pointy parts of the silver thigh don't collide with either the 'gear' or the 'box' assembly part of the ratchet mechanism. It should look like this now where the screw on the ball joint on the right leg is now facing forward (though normally not viable because of the hip skirts) You should now be using the opposite side of the 'gear' on the right leg compared to what you were using before. I'm not sure if this will help in your case but it's worth a try. If that doesn't work the only thing I can think of doing is to try to get XTB to send you a replacement part. Good luck!
Sweet Jesus I was about to dip on XTB Megatron for $85 since the retailers are asking $230 for TT. Is this an issue for ver 1 or 2????
I've emailed X-transbots explaining the problem so maybe I'll get a reply in a few days I'll check also check whether its the V1 or V2 version a bit later today
This. Apollyon is now quite cheap and esthetically it is just as good as the other ones... I'm wondering if it's worth a try. I'm not blown away by the official, and I'm probably not going to turn it in a gun anyway, so... But a lot of Apollyons seem to have problems or breakage out of the box...
Well nothing lasts forever. I would wait for someone to part out an Apollyon on Ebay and look for the part you need. You could do the same and buy a new Apollyon for the pieces you sold.
I'll stick with Apollyon, I won't be transforming him but I would like him fixed so I can get him in some cool poses Mightron I like the look of, perhaps better actually than the new official Megatron release. But like I said, I'll stick with Apollyon (For now....) I guess I'll keep an eye out for Apollyon junkers to come up for sale and see if I can get one cheap
I'm not a masterpiece purest and my pockets aren't that deep lol As long as I can pose Apollyon without him falling over then I'll be happy (especially as I've seen the review of Fanstoys Sovereign and its now on my want list) I'm also after Soundwave which I may treat myself to... At some point.... In the future... One day... **sigh**
Well get this, XTB replied to my email!! Looks like they'll be sending me some replacement bits!! They want me to pay the postage which is fair enough. All I have to do is confirm how they want me to pay them
