    This should be interesting.

I'm open to replacing MP-36 it's good but not perfect. My ideal Megatron is a combo of 36 & Maketoys Megatron, hoping this comes close that that idea. If it's more toon than 36 then I'm out.

I don't understand why they would do this, Takara literally swept the competition clean with MP-36.

They should probably make another set of Constructcons while they're at it. Maybe some dinobots too.

That's sarcasm, since people don't seem to be able to pick up on that anymore unless it's bright blue. I don't do blue.

Knowing x-transbots, I wonder what the transformation will be like.

I don't know about that. The transformation and the back could use some improvement. I think MP 36 has the worse back out of all the MP Megs that exist.

might be legend size...I don't see in MP scale how XTB's version can compete with MP36's accuracy or KO MP36's price

I'd be in for another MP Megatron. I have Apollyon, MP-36 and DX9 and honestly, I don't care for the skinny leg look and all the kibbleyness of the official. Apollyon is outdated (but still has a strong shelf presence).

DX9 is my main one right now but if they could get a really nice update to Apollyon, I think it could move up to my #1 spot.

Um.....okay. Why? but okay. I'll watch and see if I'll replace MP36 and DX9 but I'm not seeing the need to.

FYI MP-36 is 5 years old, it's not crazy to think it could be improved

Apollyon was decent in it's day. Too fragile though. To date, I have never been able to fully transform mine. That said Takara MP-36 Megatron and the subsequent KO's blows that old design out of the water. I know that is all OLD news. But it is still true to this day.

But, the current "news" is that XTB have NOT evolved with the modern market. Their releases , as well as KFC, may look good but are mediocre over all quality at best, STILL plagued with QC issues, over complicated engineering, expensive and unnecessary electronic features (looking at you Dr. egg), and are very fragile. After the last round of XTB figure I bought and thankfully got rid of (Kupp... Stunticons... Preceptor... ridiculously over priced Quintesson that is easily beat out aesthetically and build quality (believe it or not) by the vastly less costly Hasbro deluxe figure... just to name a few) I will never buy an XTB product again and I cannot replace the few I have left fast enough. The ONLY figures that I still have that is remotely decent are Crash Hog/Wreck Gar, Andras/Scourge (first release) and Klaatu/Cosmos. I was holding out for their Springer.... But, where the hell is it? Even at that, I've see photos of the engineering and it looks terribly fragile with very thin parts on metal slide bars and such. Just, NO. I know my FT Apache is FAR from perfect, but it is sturdy as hell and I don't think it is going to fall apart just looking at it any time soon like nearly ALL my XTB stuff has. I'm not a ham fisted gorilla like BSF (love that guy BTW) and I do not handle my collection all that often like most people transforming things back and forth a whole bunch. Most of the time, in the Moducase it goes and not touched for months... XTB figs in the cabinet and untouched falling apart just standing there.

XTB are on my ban list and that will never change moving forward. Waste of money. They can make a new Megatron for all I care but I ain't buy'n it. But that is just me.

It may be 5 years old, and yes, it could certainly be improved upon. But do we really need that now? MP 36 is the best MP Megatron that exists, it is an overwhelming fact. Sure, 3 people may not like it and that's cool.

But why not a Rodimus for now? THAT is a character we need.

I’d only be open to something that looks as good as MP36, or better, but has an easier transformation. And even then it’s iffy.

although, this figure has a better shot at safety megaton colors

I predict that this looks absolutely flawless in the renders and even the product photography, but is then a nightmare to actually handle or transform.

XTB obviously is capable of putting out good products, but the only thing MP-36 really left on the table (besides flakes of chipped off paint, hey-o) was a few places (like the back) that reveal that yes, this is a transforming toy. And I bet erasing all such traces, while still converting into an also flawless-looking gun, is going to lead to a toy with far too much intricacy for XTB's QC to handle.
