Hey, apologies if I just couldn’t find an existing open thread, but preorders just went up for this set. I own the official sisters, however I don’t have them in front of me right now and something looks... off about these ladies. I love me some fembots and while I’m not at all a fan of Jung’s design or their treatment in ROTF, Arcee has really been done dirty in the toy department. First, we never got a release of Elita’s toy, just a recolored Chromia. Hasbro also couldn’t seem to keep their names and colors straight, even post-film. The SS toys are kind of amazing for the scale but Aoyi seems to be pulling shenanigans, all over again..
Got my set today... they kinda suck. I thought they were an OSKO of the recent Studio Series figures, but those are MUCH better than these. What are these even a KO of? Sorry, I'm not too well-versed on Bayverse figures, I just love me some Fembots. Maybe I'll put all 3 in bike mode and see if any of my figures look good riding them [Mega Construx guys maybe?].
Thanks @Markatron, I had no idea. Looks like they used the HA Arcee figure [part of the pack with Skids] as Chromia in this set, and the HA Chromia figure [party of the pack with Mudflap] as Arcee in this set... so what is the Elita figure a KO of? So confusing!
Elita is an upside down ko of Chromia. Which is why her wheel arm is so functional, for lack of a nicer term, and the wheel guard on it is still shaped to function as a stand, like it does on Chromia. I don't get why they didn't just do an OSKO of the Studio Series. They're newer designs, based on the finished cgi models, and crucially, one isn't a janky remold of another
I think I’m going to buy them on tfdirect and also if it’s too much could you send me a pic of them before I purchase ?
