Yeah, between that issue and the lacking paint apps, plus movie Optimus fatigue, I think I'm going to wait and try to get Takara's Nemesis repaint. At least that one looks nicer and it's something of a more interesting toy/character/deco for me.

The dotm one is too big. Prime can't bend his elbow while holding the weapon.

Not really anything to do with the gun being too big (although it is too large to be proportionately accurate), but with the gun handle being too far forward.

Yeah, but if it were further back I think most Transformers who try to hold it will just see their arms droop down.

I give my EvOP the First Edition Transformers Prime Optimus gun since it looks like it comes out of his arm to some degree. It looks very nice on him.

Would you or anyone else be able to post a pic? I'd have to see just how good it looks before I go digging my TFP Prime out of whatever box he's in.

Ah man quoted for truth. I have been trying to explain to peeps why this Prime is so great but I could never really put it into words that were more common sense/ by the numbers than just something that sounds fanboyish.

I do still love FEPrime and Classics though.

I was on the fence about this one. I heard the hype, but I wasn't wowed by the colors or anything. So I picked it up on a whim yesterday to satisfy my craving for another Voyager...and I was blown away.

Forgiving the absolute garbage that is his deco, he's a solid contender for one of the best Movie Optimus toys--and this is from the guy who loves Battle Blades Prime beyond belief. The weapon is alright (and it made me realize that I need to buy DOTM Voyager Megatron) but the mass conservation between modes is absolutely incredible. He's taller than Battle Blades Optimus in bot mode, and smaller than him, much smaller, in robot mode. It makes me wonder about the remark that the TF1 producers made about Optimus--that making him into a flatnose cab would not provide him with enough mass to be the height he needed to be--because god damn, this one does the job just fine.

The main difference is long nose (TF1) versus flat cab (TF4), by now we all know the height has little to do with the nose. So it's more of "new hotness" wins over "old and busted", which happens again in TF4, twice if you count Bumblebee.

Because back then crazy toy transformations that defied physics like was practically commonplace in 2010-2011 didn't exist. A car still truned into a car-sized robot, and so-on.

Also, because it really wouldn't have. Not when they're trying to sell the idea of Transformers to the masses. Though now they can literally do whatever they want, it seems, wether the truck appears to have the ammount of mass or not. (though the toy still shows errors in it, such as the chest windows being way smaller than the real windows, and the wheels on the legs being huge. The robot mode has shrunk to fit the new truck mode)

yeah this guy would, realistically, only be a few feet shorter but there's also other mass missing proportionally... notice the tiny arms and like SPLIT LIP mentioned the giant wheels in bot mode. i mean he'd still be close to his peterbilt design's mass but not matching it exactly.

It really reminds me of the Prime sizechanging, where for the most part, everyone just gains mass in robot mode--but Arcee's wheels stay miniscule, the size of her motorcycle mode.

But yeah, you make a great point, SPLIT. TF4 is just incredibly egregious with the vehicle-to-robot transformations, so much more than any of the other movies. Bots like Lockdown just straight have no vehicle parts. Must be hell on the designers.

But that would also mean this Evasion Mode Prime - being a smaller robot - would be the ideal onscreen match to Lockdown ...instead of fans going WTF how can that small Lockdown, smackdown Prime !?.

What are some good G1 inspired rifles for him?
