I'm with you guys. People like who you're talking about just ruin it for the rest of us. Those people are part of the reason I don't go to conventions. I don't want to spend that kind of money anyway, but I certainly don't want it wasted by a ruined experience with unhappy people.

It's your fault you said "poo poo in the potty" instead of something like "I don't like it", or giving a good damn reason why you say it's bad.

One question: How did you get these?

Grimlock looks OK, but I prefer the "Then and now" version. I just hope they release a dark gray colored Grimlock at some point. Or that some Radicon out there makes movie-accurate Dinobots. Oh well.

Thanks for the review. This figure looks okay, but I think that the leader will likely be the better of the 2. Looking forward to a video review of this one shortly. The one minor nitpick that I have with it, which the reviewer touched on, is the accessory. I mean, it's okay, but I think a figure in that price range should come with more than one weapon/accessory. I guess that this is the way of the world now (I am a G-1'er so I miss getting figures with multiple weapons a la G1 Dinobots!). But Hound comes with, what, 5 weapons? Surely they could have given Grimlock a blaster/cannon or some kind of ranged weapon to go with his mace-thingy.

The thought behind the accessory, simply is that Grimlock is a brute. He shows his power by needing nothing more than a giant spiked mace to fight with. It would feel out of place if he had a bunch of add-on accessories or modern weapons. The mace fits with the primitive nature of dinosaurs in general too. This, compared to Hound makes sense, who is a "modern" fully decked out military/Army/Marine type character who is all about artillery and weapons.

Dino mode looks great but sad to hear most of the parts do not lock together. That's a shame. Robot mode, thank GOODNESS the wrists can swivel! I was very worried about this when the Toy Fair and stock photos emerged. Phew.

As for weapons, so long as the fists have 5mm holes, I can use Constructbots weapons.

    Just putting this out there...

    Compared to:

    vs

From my observations, the arm kibble is designed to fold up onto the arm - at the sacrifice of the wrist swivel, the review just wanted to utilize the swivel joint on the wrist (regardless of its design) & is therefore stuck with kibble the figure was engineered to eliminate.

So either wrist swivel & crazy kibble, or no wrist swivel & no kibble; you can't have it both ways.

Therefore, any debates about the arms should be complaints about how much one is able to accept (what has been affectionately in the past known as) "monkey arms".

But failure to recognise a designer's intent & therefore mistransform a figure does not make it a bad figure by any means...

And the new grimlock dino with horns looks like a trex? Really? Nobody knows what an actual trex looks like because nobody has unearthed one intact all we have are imaginations based off bones and other infos. So either the g1 nor this new designs are based off actual trex

Your initial complaint makes no sense then, silly.

(but also you're wrong, nowadays we have a pretty good idea of how the T-Rex' body was structured -feathers or not- so even with all the spikes and horns the modern toy is more of a t-rex than the G1 who was almost a kaiju)

Also the issue of it's the first passes at the design. If Grimlock shows up again, I'm sure any of his toys will be miles better.

man, the leader looks hilariously bad in robot mode. too wide/low set of shoulders, his arms are skinny and the collar on his chest is hilariously tall. it covers half his face.

Definitely not a samurai look. European knight, all the way. Note the buff at the neck; that's a very specific piece of European armor.

The figure looks less awesome than I'd hoped, but I'll probably still get it anyway, if it's just $25.

You do realised that if a TRex had horns we would have found it with horns since they are made of material that would turn into a bone.

There are relatives of TRex that DO HAVE horns. but they are not TRex's.
