In an interesting new marketing move, Nicola and Jack and Mark have made new videos to China, wishing Chinese students good luck on their college entrance exams. These exams are a big deal, for any of those that do not know. At the end of these videos, the actors tell fans to watch AOE after the tests. Obviously, nothing new relating to the story, but just fun little videos. What do you think? The videos can be seen here: [VIDEO:]
I know this is nothing short of a good move by the aoe team!! As lets face it in china a giant fire breathing (dragon inspired) t rex is definitely going to distract a few students!!!
lmao like they give two shits about Chinese students grades!! Lets face it this is simply to promote awareness of the film in foreign countries (which seems to be the concentration of the marketing).
I know it was filmed in China, but they're making a big deal about it there why not so much promotion here in the UK and USA.
Well given that DOTMs US ticket sells weren't as good as rotf and it was really the foreign ticket sells that helped it to 1bil, I'd say they're putting more stock and faith into the foreign market.
I know! For my next finals, I want OP to tell me good luck! Hope this gives you motivation! Yeah, this is a nice little way of connecting the audience with the stars. Neat little move the did. Pretty much. They are one of the biggest target markets of the movie. They did contribute a lot to DOTM's success and it looks like Hollywood's films are trending towards China. At least the toys are finally getting displays, at least in the U.S. This. After three movies of the same people (liking or hating them) it is time for a change. I think that they chose right, especially with Wahlberg. Pretty much. Which almost guarantees that the movie will make at least one billion dollar worldwide.
