AHHHHHHHHHHH This project was dropped and picked back up so many times I had to buy a second strafe because I gave up and modified the one meant for this. I have literally been wanting to do this since Age of Extinction toys hit the shelves. WHY did this take so long!? But anyways, here it is! I repainted AoE Dinobots into the four Rescue Dinobots. To be clear, this was a toy2toy paintjob and I actually haven't watched far into Rescuebots. So they won't look much like their animation models and more like their tiny original toys. AoE Slog -> RD Heatwave: I thought Slog in his package was cool...but the gorilla arms were such a deal breaker that I started this project. In hindsight, I could have just given him new hands. Taking a note from what I did with CW Defensor's guns, I decided to keep his firetruck functionality by making his lances into WATER LANCES. A nice chrome basecoat with a VERY LIGHT misting of blue spray paint. Easily my favorite effect. AoE Snarl -> RD Chase: In those colors, the chest really just makes me think of a cop car and that's...not on purpose, but SO perfect. AoE Slag -> RD Boulder: So...strange thing here. I removed the front horn to make his head MORE like a bulldozer. I mean the split horn was honestly more thorny than I liked and wouldn't stay upright anyways...so partially needed. Also the swords looked cool, but they bent into fruit loops. I couldn't even get a decent enough glue/polish basecoat to spray them, so I tossed them out and handed him a pair of Energon Laserbeak axes...which work strangely well for this top-heavy robot mode. AoE Strafe -> RD Blades: And the finale. Strafe closed this off in an odd way. I thought about leaving out the crossbow entirely(since it's weird he's the only dinobot with a gun anyways), but I wouldn't have used it for any other project so...I left it in. He's also the only one without a chrome basecoat(except the weapons). But most of all; Strafe/Blades was finished on stream over on my twitch channel! (Which is probably why his paintjob is honestly cleaner than the others) I have...Three more things coming up this week and then I'll be...probably calling it quits as a transformer customerizer/seller. I did want to stop sooner, but going through my backlog really brought a spark back to me for it. I'm not saying goodbye, I reserve the right to jump all over a custom idea if the mood arises. Just don't expect to see me every week/month anymore. And besides, I'm going out not with a whimper... But a Deep Sea Boom.
Really cool idea and nicely done. They all look great and I especially like Blades. And I think your paint applying technique got better
