After merely 10 days AOE is now the Highest Grossing Movie Ever in China, having grossed a whopping $222.7 Million – whereas the previous record holder, Avatar, grossed $221.9 Million.

Other sources have said that Avatar grossed $217.7 Million but AOE has nonetheless beaten that record now.

If I remember correctly DOTM grossed about $165 Million in China, so moneywise it seems as though having the third act of AoE set in China has paid off.

In the U.S. AoE has grossed about $175 Million as of July 6 (this is the latest tally by Box Office Mojo). So it seems as though the decrease in the domestic gross will be outbalanced by the gross in China.

I wonder if Chinese movie critics called Chinese audiences stupid for seeing it.

    China loves some tf!

I feel angry about japan tho. They never embraced fricking live action transformers even tho it originated there

Btw I can have a beef with japan cos I'm from there

Yea its not. I'm at japan now and it's scheduled to come 8/8. But there is no hype for it aside from the toy aisle and tf movies typically do 30 million in japan...spare change compared to China

And u can't say movies don't gross well there cos frozen made a fricking 220 mil here

In all seriousness, I would be interested in knowing what the Chinese critics think about the film.

AOE made $4 Million yesterday in the USA, what is going on with this movie in the USA? how can DOTM make $352 Million domestic, AOe will be lucky to make $250 Million domestic. Is the country too cheap to go out to the movies? The sad thing is AOe is a much better movie than DOTM

just shows you that the USA box office is dead, nobody goes out to the movies anymore, They either steal them or wait for the Blu-Ray to watch in their own home
