I just saw it, and I'm disappointed. Plenty of questionable decisions (ex. how come the humans get to back up Prime at the end and not the other Bots, who were just sitting on their assess somewhere), sloppy editing, and tired Bay shots/camera angles/sound effects (and is Drift supposed to be a triplechanger or what?). To be clear, I'm not a Bayformer-hater--I've actually grown to love the Movie toy aesthetic over the years and own a bunch of movie figures. Vote only if you've seen the movie, please.
For the average film goer: entertaining but long Average critic: film of satan Me( average transformers fan): SO AWESOME BEST OF THE FOUR ZZVBJJFDDGBNAGHHBBAHHH
I tried looking for a thread that discusses how good/bad the movie is, and did not see one. This is not a "bash" thread, if you really like the movie your opinion and vote counts, too.
Another complaint is that the quality of the CGI is not so good. It felt like video-game tier. The finish on the first movie was more realistic for me.
The human villain was calling out Cade for joining the Autobots. Optimus save him. Lockdown calls out Optimus out for fighting and protecting humans. Humans save him. That's the point. Yeah. He is. Is there anything that rejects this claim?
Pacing issues make it around the same level as TF;2007 - so in competition for best of the quadrilogy. Would have been higher if the pacing was fixed and they removed the Chinese aspect. Nothing against Chinese members in the movies - but I didn't need to see Tucci drinking open a fridge and start drinking milk in a movie pushing nearly three hours. If the pacing was fixed and the Chinese aspect was removed then it would be the best in the series - minus the Galvatron aspect that went nowhere.
I don't know if I would call it good, but I enjoyed it a lot. It was definitely better in quality than ROTF and DOTM.
At the end of the film, the dinobots and crosshairs are blocking the bridge to create a safe getaway for hound and drift to get the seed to safety. Bumblebee was tasked with getting Tessa and Shane to safety, but Tessa convinced bumblebee they needed to go back and help Cade and optimus
I enjoyed it. It's definitely the best of the 4 live action Transformer films. Sadly it still suffers from Bay's touch, such as his complete misunderstanding of geography, shitty humor, and his insistence on focusing on the people instead of the big ass robots. Walberg is a big step up from the LaBuff. The casting overall is so much better than the previous films; surprisingly I didn't spend most of the film imagining them dying in horrible ways involving chipper shredders and flamethrowers. The Dinobots were awesome. Slag has an adorable puppy-like movement pattern that I found hilarious throughout the scenes. Here's a pretty good review. I just felt disappointed. Maybe I was expecting too much, I don't know. I liked the other three just fine. This one... just kind of fell flat. The humans were more tolerable, and the 'Bots got some characterization, which was nice. But nothing else really struck a chord for me.
I thought it was great! Even out of all the bad reviews.. the CGI is one of the only good things they mention??
Yeah, nothing really... apart from his toys that are not triple changers. I hate how the movie pandered to China (similarly, no offense to the Chinese actors). And I fucking hate the product placements.
