the larger the file size, the slower the web page loads. the restriction is there so no one makes a sig that's 15 MB in size.

 

I think at least 1 MB should be fine.

Here's a tip : save the file to your computer, then right click the image in your file explorer and select "Properties" to see the size.

Now, this Lockdown .gif is 4 MB in size. I highly recommend you don't use it for your sig.
